What's the deal with the episode titles?

Knight in Shining Armor
Journey to the End of Knight
Knight of the Iguana

Do these titles have anything to do with the episodes? I know that "Shining Armor" was a code name in episode one, but it was a very minor point. If this trend continues I think it's going to be confusing to discuss past episodes. We'll all be asking "which episode was that again?"

Knight of the Iguana apparently did too, I think there was an Iguana mention during the episode.

Are they even showing the episode titles in the show anymore? Unless I'm missing it, the general public has no idea of the titles not making sense.

Perhaps another example of producers missing the point?

Having said that TOS had some obscure titles too.. but not everyone of them.

And I guess it would only be fans of TOS who would notice that stuff anyway, and I don't' think fans of TOS are the target audience. :(

Yeah, unlike some show like Heroes that shows the episode titles BIG, KR doesn't show the titles in the show itself, so maybe it's just for internal reference or for the reviewers to name the episode.

I don't think it's that common for shows to show the title anyway is it?

I'm just thinking of some other shows I have on DVD and they don't show the titles very often.

"Iguana" was the codename of the mission that MIA agent was working, IIRC. No idea where "Journey to the End of Knight" came from, though.

Journey To The End of Knight - Michael was "meddling" with the affairs of the street racing team. Mike had an old friend who tried to keep Mike away from the whole thing from the very beginning, before he found out what Mike was really up to. It was a journey that would had lead to Mike's death. Fortunately, there was Sarah and KITT. Ergo, the title's name.

Yeah, but I was also thinking Micheal Knight was actually driving in some shining armor. Poetic..

Here's an inside scoop.

They wanted to name it "Knight In Leather Jacket" but they can't since Mike is not wearing the leather jacket anymore. They can't use "Knight In Fire Armor" cause it's too campy, so "Shining Armor" it is!

OK OK calm down ppl maybe I can shed some light on this subject LOL

First off remember this series is a "continuation" of the KR Original Series

Whereas the KRO Series had titles like:

Knight Of The Phoenix
Halloween Knight
Knight Of The Juggernaut
Voodoo Knight etc etc

A majority of the KRO Series episode titles had something to do with the word "knight"

So following that logic and the fact that the three episodes we have so far have called back to themselves the writers are:

#1 Paying Tribute to the Original Series and
#2 The titles are all mentioned in the episode in one way or another.

thems my 2 cents at least that is what makes sense to me :good:

The difference between the new series episode titles and the original series is that the old titles gave you some hint as to which episode it was. If I say "Blind Spot", that's a pretty big hint that that's the episode with the blind lady. "Forget Me Not" has the amnesia girl. "Goliath" has... well... Goliath. Not all of the original titles are helpful though: "A Good Knight's Work" doesn't really tell you anything about the episode. Neither does the original "A Knight in Shining Armor".

With the new titles, there may be some small connection but they don't help you recall the specific episode.

A Knight In Shining Armor is also the title of an original series episode in (I think) season 3.

Maybe part of it is because we've had 25 years to memorise the original series episodes and titles so we know it by heart. Now this new series is something we haven't seen before and it takes some time to memorise what happened in each episode and what the title is.
Oh and the original series "A Knight in Shining Armor" was season 2 episode. The title was mentioned in the episode:
Katherine to Michael:
Thanks for your help. You're a regular knight in shining armor. Fortunately, I don't need one.

Yeah... Those that remember the original series do remember the so called "Knight" prefix it was on all the old episodes and they are bringing it back... Which is not such a bad idea...

Indeed take a look at IMDB for the titles of the 80's show episodes and most have the Knight prefix such as:
- Voo Doo Knight (1986) TV episode, Played by David Hasselhoff
- Knight of the Rising Sun (1986) TV episode, Played by David Hasselhoff
- Fright Knight (1986) TV episode, Played by David Hasselhoff
- Hills of Fire (1986) TV episode, Played by David Hasselhoff
- Knight Flight to Freedom (1986) TV episode, Played by David Hasselhoff

And, of course, at the end of the episode, when she realises she was wrong. :)

Speaking of episode titles, does the feb pilot have one??

I know KOTP was sort of named AFTER it was shown, just wondering do they have one for that episode?

Unofficially (or at least for the Emmy DVD) "Prometheus" is the episode title for the pilot TVM,
as the bad guys were after the hard drives containing classified "Prometheus" project data.

I wouldn't be adverse to the pilot being titled "Knight of the Prometheus" to keep with tradition. But then there would be two KOTPs... and that would get confusing! lol

I'm actually surprised TOS never used "The Long Knight", which would have been oh so lame but nifty...especially for an epi like "Knightmares".
