I remembering saying this would be a great thing if there were a Knight Rider radar detector to go with the new Knight Rider Mio GPS & no one really agreed with me.
I should pursue my ideas more is the moral to this story.

I feel like the Billy of the group now...


The sound files are probably not in .wav format but instead in ogg format.
And since my Japanese is rusty (as in non-existent) it would seem impossible to figure out what each sound file meant.
However, this is where most Japanese people have one up on us. Most of them know Japanese AND English.
That is why the user interface is all in English and the voice files are in Japanese. Thus making it all to easy to redub the ogg files. My ear will have to identify strings of spoken Japanese though... -sigh- good times,good times...


Now for the bad news. They were only made in a limited run of 5 thousand. Yup, thats why most are sold out. I found several retailers in Japan that carry this but I am in talks to see if they ship to the US.

I am sure if...well, we can talk about that later, lets just see if we can get them first. Then will cross the next bridge.

I agree with what you said about the screen. The whole unit is pretty small. About the size of a cellphone.
But thats really good because it's small enough I can install the lcd in my rearview mirror on the left hand side of the mirror face..

Stylez, props for translating that. Yeah, most of the folks I am in talks with either won't ship to the U.S.A. because Japans Commerce Council is notorious for odd and tight regulations. It can be done, but it's not worth there hassle. And thats really to be understood seeing as how most of them are sold out and the rest are put up on yahoo action sites. So yeah, I am waiting on 3 more vendors who might help us all out. I told him we would have a boat load of people here in the states that would LOVE this. So keep your fingers crossed...

sky_blue_civic that would be cool if they made a cartoon out of knight rider. I would so watch that. Even though I am not a big fan of anime.

Been looking at this board for a while and finally decided to register.


That radar detector is cool, hopefully we can find a souce for it.


I was cruising ebay and came across an auction for a 2008 KITT GPS

The auctions not real clear on any Knight Rider specifics that the GPS has. It is packed full of features however.

I love how the auction says "This is a promotional type item that NBC had produced in very limited numbers. This is not the kind you can buy in the store!"

My response: Who cares. It's a normal GPS with a preloaded start up graphic. I could put the same graphic on the MIO KR GPS if I wanted too. Way easy. Other than that it looks like a normal gps. Kinda expensive too. Neat, but not $350 neat ya know...

As for a Animated KR: I'm still waiting for a Buffy one, and it hasn't happened yet, so I'm not holding my breath for a KR one.
Even though I am not a die-hard fan of Anime I do like it's style for Knight Rider.
