Main differences between David Hasselhof and Justin Bruening

Post by steventje » Wed Sep 24, 2008 2:36 pm

Hello,

I was wondering what are the main differences in character between Hasselhoff and Bruening.
I know the KR 2008 series just started and that Bruening is a new kid on the block but can he live up to the Hasselhoff character?
Will the producers try to make him as laidback and flamboyant as Hasselhoff? Or will they give him a free role in developing his character?

He's a different character so, aside from potential genetic traits, there's no reason why he shouldn't be his own person and not a Hasselhoff copy.

Bruening strikes me as more edgy and "human"... which I like. Hasselhoff, let's face it, was sort of the "pretty boy I'm stuck on myself" type... of course that may have been some leftover from the 70's soap opera era.

I'm glad the producers of the new KR didn't go for a Hasselhoff copy. It's terrifying to think of what that could possibly be, in this day and age.

Michael Knight was more passionate and charming and also angrier when he needed to be. Mike Traceur is more sarcastic and immature but also can instantly tap back into his "military" mode when necessary. I do agree that they should be two completely different people despite having the same job. But maybe it might not be a bad idea to have some genetic father-son traits, too.

hasslehoff could wear tight long jeans and get away with it. I think David did a great job acting out intense scenes. He had more passion a determination which made it seem more real. Also for some reason David seemed to care more about the people he was trying to help and you believed that he really wanted to make a difference. Justin comes along like well if I can't help this person I have 50 people back at the cave that can while david seemed more independent.
Booonnnnnzzzzaaaaaiii!!!!!!!! As michael turbo boosts to score the extra point. His face is so funny when he yells this and when he hits turbo boost his eyes get huge and he flies back into the seat

I don't recall the Hoff ever saying "Dude" in the new series... as in "Dude, you're confusing me!" when Kitt was directing Justin through the building.

Justin Bruening lacks the charming smile of DH. JB certainly makes an edgier character, I agree. But that also makes him kind of boring lol...
