Saw this on the train ride in and then KnightRiderFan1051 PM'd me as well. TVShowsOnDVD is reporting that through a deal with FYE (and possibly Suncoast) you can get the Knight Rider 2008 Pilot free with purchase:

The free-with-purchase release goes under the title "Knight Rider - An Icon Reborn," which certainly sounds fitting! DVD titles to purchase, which qualify you to get this disc, include any of the first four seasons of the original Knight Rider series, either season of Friday Night Lights, the first season of Heroes on DVD (the Blu-ray version isn't included), any of the first three seasons of The Office, the first season of 30 Rock, or the first two seasons of either Miami Vice or Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Purchase any one of the above, and you should be able to drive off with K.I.T.T.! See your local store, or the chain's website, for complete details. sorry all u KROForums members not in US that sucks BUT I JUST GOT back with my BRAND NEW KR2008 movie gonna pop it in the puter and watch.

the only special feature is a audio commentary with david bartis, justin bruening, and deanna russo. Least I can take the thing off my DVR now and watch it commerical free anytime lol wooohooooo!!!

That is awesome to hear that they have extras Since you are watching it on your computer - can you tell if it is Enhanced for 16x9? The Emmy DVD I have - the film is presented on a 4x3 frame with the 16x9 black bars. If it is formated for 16x9 - the display size of the screen when not in full size mode should not have black bars. (if your computer itself can recognize that)

Next time I'm in f.y.e. I will see if I can pick up a copy without having to purchase another DVD set. I'm interested in hearing the audio commentary for this.

As far as I know this DVD is ONLY available thru FYE as a free with purchase. According to TVShowsOnDvd.com it isn't being released to buy. But I'm not sure unless when they release the first season on DVD it might be on there like the Knight Rider 2000 movie was on a fourth disc of the original series season 1 DVD set. Neps I switched to my TV and it auto sizes THe picture but when I had it in my PC if I kept the aspect ratio it has the black lines but the picture quality is great in my opinion. I bought Law & Order: SVU the first year for a total of $31.83 so it wasn't that bad considering the L&O sets usually retail at $60 or more.

Fye stores have a LIMITED # of copies of this DVD so it won't be around forever I'm not sure how ling the promotion is going to be for the commentary Is cool

yea most likely but still rather get it for free then see it listed on ebay for like 100.00

besides as I said in a earlier post I like L&O: SVU and have been meaning to get those DVD sets so paying $31.83 for an SVU 6 disc set and getting KR2008 for FREE is a great deal!!!! just my opinion though because as I said before TVShowsOnDVD's listing this morning I was under the impression there wasn't going to be a single disc release of the movie. I was under the impression that they'd add it to an eventual Season 1 DVD set of the series when it came out whenever. So I'm not all that disappointed besides I love the NEW theme.

I know I sound like a broken record but the store clerk told me that almost any of their NBC TVDVD Sets that are 50% off includes the FREE KR2008 DVD not just the ones in the poster.

Well its region code one so it makes sense that people in Europe couldn’t order it, but Canada should be able to play it fine.

For the people that can go to the store to buy it, get a couple you can always return one if you don’t want it.

Oh and yes it says here its anamorphic.

They must still have plans to put this in with the first season box set or some other release, because we are missing all the Featurettes. Mentioned here.

you are correct the rest of the listed features are missing my only GUESS to this is because when they scrapped the project a few months ago they'd decided probably to put them on the Season 1 DVD set when it eventually releases after the first season. I'm just guessing here but It's nice to have the commentary if they do more bonus features I think there should be a separate commerical reel from the actual airing I'm just glad I can delete it from the DVR now that I have the thing on DVD!!!! my brain is going beserk though trying to figure out the whole jennifer/mother thing and where in the original series she might have come about even though we never saw her the only Jennifer I remember was Garthe's sister wilton's daughter Jennifer Knight in Knight of the juggernaut Parts I & II I dunno though

at first when I read this this morning I thought it was "online" only but when I added a selection to the cart at the FYE website it said nothing about the FREE DVD so I called the store and the manager held a copy for me. If I was everyone I'd call your local FYE 1st before venturing out I know what it's like losing out on a FREE promotion because you weren't there in time. and remember these DVD's are in limited supply

Holy KITT on a CRACKER! WHOOOOOHOOOOOOO! I guess I'll have to get out my saved up money for a Heroes box set(I love that show)...Or...I'll stop being a rabid KITT and KI3T fangirl and wait for the season 1 box to come out.It's sooo hard to choose...

Wish I had an FYE near me.

I went and got one today...the girl infront of me in line was offered one for buying a TV box set and she said no thanks...I asked if I could have her's too, and they said yes, but when they saw I was getting one too they changed their mind...I have no idea why. I was hoping to help someone here with one, but they wouldn't let me have it. They took my name and number for the posters tho after the sale

I went and got one today too. I didn't see the poster, that might be because the FYE that I went to was in a mall. Just got home and haven't had the chance to crack it open yet. Can't wait to watch this again!!! I bought a copy of Knight Rider Season One to give to my best friend for Christmas, so it was an awesome "2 birds with 1 stone" kinda thing!

Its a shame that there only available in the US.

I bet there will be a few of these DVD`s pop up on ebay though!
