Hello all. New to K.R.O. Long time lurker, first time poster. One thing I just had to say. Did anyone else but me notice in the trailer that when K.I.T.T. transforms there is also the familiar noise that is the Transformers noise? Listen closly at the 2:00 min mark. I heard it first, then had to rewind couple times to verify. Let me know if I am hearing this right.

I'd like to say "welcome" before jumping into my reply...

anyway.... as an "old skool" (using UK spelling) fan of cartoon transformers i'd say no....

but having seen the cinema version more recently which used the "old skool" synthetic sound on top of the more realistic "mechanical" sound, I would have to say....

erm nope for me, Transformers had the synth sound only in my time anyway

but ya i know what ya mean....

new KR does sound like the "mechanical" tranformation...

but then why shouldnt it....???

but what they should do is integrate some of the "nanotech" sounds they had in the pilot to 'vaguely' tie it up and make it "Knight Rider" (albeit the NEW one, at least its KR and not reminiscent of another franchise...)

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm refering to the "real" Transformers. The one's from 1984. I find if I hear it blended right when he says "Transformation complete." To me it reminded me of the '07 movie when Blackout transformed at the airbase. First mech, then synth.

To me that sound sounded like a RoboCop sound, lol :)

I am sorry to pop this up this late but KARR's fury is 100% right.

KITT makes the original G1 Transformers transforming sound just before the transformation is complete.

I just looked the "Previews Knight Rider Behind the Scenes" clip form NBC's site:
http://www.nbc.com/Knight_Rider/video/c ... es/518081/

And when "time left"-slot in the player hits 1:02 you definitely can hear the original G1 transformation sound and Kilmer saying the line "Transformation complete". I tried to find the original Transformers transformation sound online but this was the best I found:
http://ihsan.com/azraie/Transforming-sound-2.mp3

In the KR clip and in the TF series it's often a bit faster.

I own a G1 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime that has this voice box with the right sound and I have heard this sound like 300 times. It sounds exactly like the sound in the KR clip. I've even teached my 1.5 year old kid to say this sound :D and he is quite good at it.

Roll out.

Thanks, nice to know I'm not the only crazy one LOL. My wife and her friend could hear it also when using headphones. Guess my notebook speakers aren't all that great. One month till the premiere. Can't wait :)
