'Official' Knight Rider Online San Diego Comic Con Tshirt
So in the other Comic Con thread I mentioned that if you were attending the con, I would give you a KRO tshirt to wear for free. Well I wanted to show you guys the design I've been working on (so you don't agree sight unseen) and of course get your super critical eyes.
My goal here was to make a shirt that bridged the old KR with the new KR. I thought things like the voice modulator doesnt work to bridge, and the scanner isn't defining enough over the two series (if its one bar on a shirt it looks like a cylon scanner, if its two bars it just is NBC KR)
I'm up in the air about color of shirt. Black is normal for KR shirts, but the red will really stand out in a crowd of thousands. This design would be on the front chest, and the knightrideronline.com url would be on the left sleeve.
Also, if anyone that can't make it to the con and would like one, I'm contemplating offering them here for near cost, maybe $15 including shipping?
Let me know if you like it, and if you do - which would you prefer. If you want one for yourself, let me know as well!
(btw the model is not me! it's just taken from the american apparel website)

Nice! I like the black one cause the cars and scanners are the right colors.

I liked both, and each in their own way.
I like the black shirt a lot more, because the red print gives them a scanner, which the red one doesn't.And I wish I could go to the convention! Do want shirt...Looks awesome!

Re: 'Official' Knight Rider Online San Diego Comic Con Tshirt
Hmm,
I would have to say the red ink on black t-shirt because honestly if you have a bright red shirt you're losing the details of the cars and from a distance with the cloudly negative space look around them it's just not going to show much. People will see the red shirt but they won't understand the significance of the design on it because you're going from a negative space dependent shape, to a positive one.
Also you may want to consider (unless it costs more) putting the KRO text on the back of the shirt and possibly a hint of the voice box bar graphic you use in the main KRO LOGO, just so people can see this is a KR shirt from the front and the back.
You could even make the voice box bars and put a wavy SINE line behind them so that you have both types of KITT vox's represented. Another solution is put the SINE line between the cars on the front and the KITT original voice box bars on the back of the shirt, then you're still representing both versions.
I don't think you have to show both of them on the same side to get the message across.
So often at SDCC you wind up seeing more of the back of someone's shirt then you do the front, especially in places like the exhibit hall or when people are filing into a panel.
Just some advice.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or ideas you want to bounce around.

Humm.. VK has some good ideas. Maybe the VM could be below the cars with the words over it.

The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great!

thanks everyone for your feedback! Glad people seem to like it in one direction over another, so black it is!
I was going to do the sleeve cause I felt the back was probably just too in your face, but only have one chance for them to see it here, so might as well go whole hog!

Very nice work. Much better. Make sure the spacing between your three bars are even and you should be set.

Re: 'Official' Knight Rider Online San Diego Comic Con Tshirt
OK, so in order to make these in time for the Comic Con - I'm going to need submit this to the print shop on Tuesday morning.
There are two options if you want this shirt.
1) FREE! Coming to Comic Con? Let me know, and we'll have this shirt for you to wear and keep on Thursday July 24 for the Panel. It will have the back design on it, with the url and voice modulator.
2) BUY One! If you can't make the show in Comic Con, we'll be happy to send you one for a small cost. It will only be single sided (though it can be double sided if you want, I just didn't want to pimp the site name too hard on the shirt if you didn't - let me know if you want two sided). This is a unique piece, so once the initial run is done, it's done! Price will probably be around $15 (with shipping to the US) +$2 if you need XXL or larger. International shipping will be a bit more.
If you fall into either of these categories, please PM or email me (neil at knight rider online dot com).
Say which method you want to do, and what size you want. The shirts are American Apparel red (mens: http://store.americanapparel.net/2001.html and womens: http://store.americanapparel.net/2102.html)
This is a minimum run of 24 shirts - of which we have 8 shirts left - but if the demand necessitates, we can easily add more shirts. But I need a total count in the next 36 hrs, so we don't incur any additional print fees or miss the Comic Con deadline.
Thanks!

I've put together a store to make it easier to track the tshirts and buttons. You can order either item there:
http://knightrider.bigcartel.com
If I'm going to wind up meeting you in person for the shirt, I'll hand you back the shipping the store charges.
thanks!

Well I'll definitely be at the panel! But I'd like to set up some time as we get closer to all meet the night before for a drink or coffee or something. I'm staying in the Gaslamp quarter, if that means anything...

Re: 'Official' Knight Rider Online San Diego Comic Con Tshirt
I got around to picking up tickets Comic Con on Friday. Planned for Saturday and had time off from work set up...but, I kept paying bills and debts until Saturday was completely sold out. (It stinks that they went to totally net sales, only.) Still working out plans for Friday's time off from work.
I'll try not to be too hard to spot. (In that crowd, it's near impossible, still.) As, this year, I'll be sporting the lower budget version of a Ghost Buster's outfit. (I do need to find that photo of me as a Ghost Buster meeting Beetlegeuse at a Klingon bar. It's somewhere in the digital camera files.) Complete with Goggles and Ghost Vacuum. (There's a group of four GB's that make it, every year. They sport the $10,000+ backpack versions, however. Way beyond my budget. Who knows, with the new game around the corner, there might be far more. It'll probably still be a sea of Star Wars troopers in there, though.) But, touring all day long, even in that, may be exhausting. Would be proud to have a KRO shirt, there.

Re: 'Official' Knight Rider Online San Diego Comic Con Tshirt
I see on the site it says, 'made in downtown LA.' (Los Angeles?) That could mean the LA Fashion District. Been there thrice. Once, when I needed supplies for the suit. The second time was when others needed their supplies. A third, just for the heck of it. So...yea...this guy could have been employed off the street. Or, perhaps, owns the place. Never quite know. First time, I walked the streets as it was growing dark. (Luckily, the one and only place I was seeking was about the only place that stayed open late.) That place becomes a ghost town of metal shutters and dirty streets. It feels very...no, make that extremely unsafe. The second time was in a car...down the wrong street...with the sun well set. This one alley...had the car's occupants scared to death.PHOENIXZERO wrote:Where'd they find that guy? I'm guessing living under a bridge somewhere.
