Day Watch: Russian car scene

Post by Michael Pajaro » Tue Mar 11, 2008 12:07 am

"Night Watch" and its sequel "Day Watch" are 2/3 of a fantasy/horror Russian vampire trilogy. (The third film is on its way.) The storytelling is a little different than what we get out of Hollywood and the movies are hard to follow, but I think they are brilliant. If you rent them, you need to sit down and actually watch; you can't simply have them on in the background. The movies are subtitled in english but don't let that scare you away. The subtitles are an integral part of what makes the films so interesting.

Here's a 90-second clip from Day Watch with a very cool, wildly over-the-top driving sequence. You don't really need to know any of the set-up to appreciate the action.

KITT did something like this once, only perhaps with less style. :)

Over the top is an understatement! the take-off for the jump looks really cool though.

I'm all for KITT doing something like that in the near future. :D

it was ok, but it seems a little far fetched, especially when the car drives on the side of the building.

Unless Kitt is an RX-8, only then he would be capable of doing such a stunt. I own an RX-8 and I did that last weekend. hahahaha!

If this makes it any more ... dare I say ... "realistic", it IS a fantasy/horror film and many of the characters have various forms of magic powers. The laws of physics may have been partially revoked.

That was ridiculous. Cool...and ridiculous.

Bah, people are always complaining about realism. Realistic doesn't necessarily mean better.

Just the same, could you imagine how fast you'd have to be going for that work?
