one needs a better way of hosting this sound file, as it is not very friendly of a site to use.

I didn't hear that sound in the movie but i don't like it if it is the new scanner sound. I think they should use the old swoosh sound or come up with something that fits better. It almost sounds like a hazzard buzzer or something.

Well according to an interview with the CG guys, the physical scanner often didn't work on set so they had to add most of it in later.

In fact in most of the behind the scenes footage we saw of the car, the scanner wasn't lit at ALL, which always struck me as odd. Yet in the final movie the scanner is lit in almost every scene. So that right there tells you the truth of the matter.

Personally I thought the CG guys did a flawless job adding it.

The sound came from the first time the scanner turned on while Blackriver guys were in the garage. I removed the backround music.

I must have missed that article. I read that initial pictures had to CG it in because it wasn't ready, but during the show it worked. The Jalopnik article where they photographed the car in New York City showed the scanner working so it must have worked some of the time. Either way, there was an LED in there so it wasn't all CG.

They had to enhance it because it wasn't showing up well enough during shooting. They did the same thing with the light in original show sometimes.
The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great! :skar:

I just found an aftermarket company that is producing these (no, not Brennon Fullbright) and it looked pretty sharp. I purposely closed the link because I was getting ideas...

They were four light bars (2 each side to fit the contour of the scoops) with 2 rows of multiple LEDs. They were running in and out of the hood and looked very bright in daylight.
KITT project is on again!

Currently working on: brand new stock tan interior, almost done!

Here is our interview with the CGI guys:

http://www.shadowyflight.com/news/2008/ ... -sam-n.php
KRO: What would be an example of a smaller effect, that people wouldn't even realize it was an effect, and what would be a big effect?

NICHOLSON: Well the small efffect that people wouldn't even realize is the red lights on KITT, on the hood, the two red lights that indicate his personality and mood. They didn't work on set, so we had to put a lot of them in in post. So you would never see those types of effects at all, or even believe that they weren't real.

KRO: So the car does has physical lights installed, they just weren't working?

NICHOLSON: Yeah, absolutely, they weren't working on the day. So those are kind of fix-it things.
So he says working "That day" It's also been a month since they filmed, and I was in NYC and saw the car that Jalopnik saw, and it did indeed function beautifully.

The only one I saw that felt CGI was the first one in the garage - but I thought it was beautiful.
