What do we refer to the new series as?

Post by neps » Tue Dec 18, 2007 2:38 pm

Quick question. It's always easier to shorten long titles then to constantly write them.

Knight Rider = KR
Knight Rider 2000 = KR2k KR2000
Knight Rider 2010 = KR2010
Team Knight Rider = TKR

The movie has the benefit of being unique = KR Movie.

But what can we easily refer the new series as? KR08?

Being a Trekkie as well as a Knerd, the new series is KRTNG for me. I hope it won't suck as much as STTNG :D

As far as I'm concerned, I would LOVE for the new series to suck as much as STTNG!

I agree! :D

Ummm, I like KRTNG, but that may cause a little confusion for the Trekkie depraved. I'm leaning towards KR2.

Hard to say yet when we don't know if the pilot is all we can get from this or if it becomes a tv-series. If this would be called NKR, New Knight Rider, what if there will be another new KR project in the future? How about KR:SE (Second Edition) as the Windows 98SE was separated from the first Windows 98?
Or perhaps KRSS, Knight Rider Second Series?

How about Knight Rider Reborn? Is it cheesy? I'm thinking it can allude to the existence of Michael Knight's son as well as the relaunch of the franchise. Since the series is a continuation, however, this title really could apply to the feature film, too.

How about Knight Rider 2: The Wrath of KITT? ("You made me a Ford! FOOOOOOOOOORD!")

Well, it beats Knight Rider 2: Electric Boogaloo.

:D

As much as I would love to see "Knight RIder 2: Electric Boogaloo" :), I think we're looking for quick abbreviations for fans to use when talking about the new show.

The choice is obvious in my opinion, especially with their car acrynoym...

KR3K

It's Knight Rider 3000 which can go on the shelf right next to Knight Rider 2000 while they work on Knight Rider 4000 to make a complete trilogy of failed attempts..(if it fails)

They can toss in TKR as a bonus disc.

Just goofing.

Seriously, how about KRv2? Kind of like a software upgrade. If it goes to series, the pilot would be KRv2.0, the seasons could be KRv2.1, KRv2.2, etc.

Since it's supposed to be an extension of the original, I'm just going to refer to it as Knight Rider (KR). 1980s Knight Rider can be KR:TOS (The Original Series, another leaf out of Star Trek's book). New Knight Rider is probably how ITV (in the UK) will refer to it -- they called all the syndicated Baywatch seasons "New Baywatch" for years.

Or do we simply refer to it as Knight Rider Season Five, should it go to a series?

Since it is a continuation of the original Knight Rider, it would make sense, IMO.

I like the sound of that... Season 5 does make sense...

Oww and for the record... they did not make KITT a Ford... (this is a NEW CPU and not the old KITT).

I like KR2, myself.

And TNG sucked? I'm not quite a self-proclaimed trekkie (though I suppose I am), but that's the best one as far as I'm concerned. So I agree with mike, if this show sucks as much TNG we're golden.

Anyone know if the CPU for the new series is going to be male or female? I thought a female KITT might be neat.

This just got me thinking: Has there ever been a TV series that has returned to TV years later and still had the same exact title??? I can't think of any, but then I'm not real familiar with a lot of the older shows before the '80s. (not including news and game shows)

Maybe they will add something to the title, at least for the back-door pilot.

Fords Knight Rider??

the only problem being the acronym FKR which sounds a bit rude if you dont separate the letters....

or Knight Riders Attempted Posthumus Revival.... (again, problems with the acronyms....)

whatever we refer to it as, we should wish them well so that we hopefully get another generation of fans...

How about Knight Rider the original tv series could be the first generation, KR2000, TKR (KR2010 if you want to include it) could be the second generation and this new movie of larson, nbc pilot and the tv series if it happens could be the third generation.
