Hey everyone.

Did we ever establish what the packaging differences are between the correct & incorrect sets?

I looked though the whole post with mixed answers. I'm looking to finally complete my set, but still want to make sure :P

In Region 1 discs, the fault set has English SDH and Spanish subtitles. In the corrected version, French subtitles have been also added.
So, this is the main difference that you can easily spot.

Also, the number (at the botton right - on the back side) of the boxset is different (fault set: 19243, corrected set: 19951).

You may find additional information in the following link:
(Joe Huth and PBH have provided detailed description of the packaging differences)

So I've recently been rewatching a lot of Season 3 episodes and I'm starting to notice the missing sound effects. One humorous example is in "The Ice Bandits" when one of the characters goes to answer the phone but there's no ring.

My question is: are the corrected sets available in stores now? Or do we still have to do the mail-in exhange?

Well, after taking some looks through some local retail stores for the corrected version, I couldn't find any store that actually had any Knight Rider sets on the shelves at all. Finally, I stopped in FYE to take a quick peek and they had one Season 3 set, but it was the original version.

Since then, I decided to take a risk and order another Season 3 set from the TLA site to circumvent the unprofessional Universal Home Video Department. I asked if they could check to make sure it is the corrected version before the order was sent first, however. I gave them the details about the differences in sets and got this E-mail back:

"Dear Chris,

We don't currently stock Knight Rider; we drop-ship it from our distributor. They are listing this title as having French subtitles so I would have to guess that by now (18 months after the initial release) it should be the corrected version.

Thank you for choosing TLA Video. If you have any additional questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to reply to this message or contact us at 1-888-852-3837 (1-888-TLA-DVDS).

Sincerely, David G.

As of now, I got another E-mail saying the set is backordered. It seems as if the DVDs are no longer being produced at the moment as I can't find any sets in any stores. I'll post again when I get the set to confirm if this site sells the corrected version.

Has anyone seen the Miami Vice box set? I hope Universal does something like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Miami-Vice-Comple ... 851&sr=8-7

Or at the very least offer the box package to the people who have already bought the set. This looks like it's just the season boxes in an outer box. New Line did something similar with Lord of the Rings - they made the outer box available to people who bought each movie separately.

Got the set today and it's the incorrect one, so I'm sending it back and getting a refund.
