Just bored...

I like the Season 3/4 dash better. I think it is more "user-friendly", not so cluttered with gauges. The many green LEDs are more friendly than just red and blue

I think the dashes had gadgets that were necessary for Michael and KITT to put into action at the time, and
KITT looked good as a convertible too! :D   8) 8) 8)

I Like both, but prefer the season 2 dash. It was the VOX that done it for me. The animation was perfect, I feel that in season 3 it got too big and the 3 lines of the vox got more even rather than the bigger middle line.

But I did say I like both dashes, I like the how s3/4 dash guages look like they are behind a layer of pretective glass almost, and its nice and shiney. The only thing that I dont like is the Vox on it.

I like the vox like this:

Devon-"Shall we drink to the start of.."
Michael-"Of what?"
Devon-"One mans Dream"

I too like both but prefer the 1st/2nd season dash with 2 monitors. The vertical lines makes it look kind of scientific and not so plain as the 3rd/4th season dash without them. Also, with 2 monitors KITT can show more than one thing or camera-angle in his dash.

I like both but I love the early 1st season dash and everything. That's what my replica will have.

I like the 1st/2nd Season dash better. The guages on KITT's new dash didn't give enough readouts for such a smart car plus I always liked the design of the screens.

The good things about the 3rd/4th season dash was the voicebox and the countdown lights. The compass was probably unecessery because KITT always told Michael where they were going.

I have to go with the 3rd/4th season dashboard. It's overall more high-tech-looking and is how I prefer to remember K.I.T.T. I hate the white stripes on the 1st/2nd season dash, as I think it has almost a home-made quality to it. The newer dash looks more professional and matches the overall car better, in my opinion.

Also, the pod buttons on the seasons 1/2 dash have a look not too far off from the Back To the Future DeLorean, where they seem like they were made out of some spare parts from someone's garage.

I prefer the 4th season dash for a replics beacause he does have an odometer wich is neccesary and it's illegal to drive without it

3/4 for me, the electronics look a bit more up to date than the 1/2 and probably not as dangerous as the 1/2 season cars were lol i bet the electrics in those days were very unsafe!

personally i like them both. Although i like the double screen better in the 1/2 dash so i guess i pretty much agree with KITTfan

In the replicas the season 1/2 dash does have an odometer under the guidence systems light. I think the season 3/4 dash didn't look as balanced with 1 big tv rather than two smaller ones which could be used to do two things at once. Picture in Picture would be quite annoying.

There's too many numbers in that MCK dash. In the show that display showed usually 245.0 numbers in it. It could be the trip meter though, resetting after 1000 miles / kilometers.

I don't think the pods in the season 3/4 dash are very practical. They look nice but I don't see how you can pick a function in a hurry because there is only one button in between two options. Could be difficult if you need to turbo boost and you press the Ski Mode!

The pods in Season 1/2 were much easier to use in a situation where a button needs to be pressed quickly.

The other confusing thing I thought about was the way the lights on the pods only came on when a function was pressed, how are you supposed to see which button you are pressing. In some scenes the lights are on all the time. Bit confusing.

I think it would be better if the pods in season 3/4 has a touch screen style so you can press the function light with your finger rather than the button next to the light.

I also think the sensor range lights were useful to tell Michael when KITT has detected something or whether something they were tracking was still in range of the tracking scope.

I think KITT had a quicker startup sequence with less things on the voice modulator too.

:dash: is the better dash!!!

yep this not an odometer maybe a trip range .an odemeter should have 6 digit at last

Yep I agree with the pod this is the reason why there are some functions with the same label on each side of the button like turbo bost

When I was little I liked season 3/4 because it the lack of visible push-buttons made it more futuristic to me. But now I think I like the older one better.
Michael: "KITT! Where are ya?!"
K.I.T.T.: "I'm in your parking space, Michael, where else would I be?"

Season 1/2

Post by corlando52 » Thu Feb 01, 2007 5:31 pm

I've always preferred the Season 1/2 Dash. Season 3 went to LCD display instead of the LEDs and I didn't like the look. I also prefer the two monitors to the one big one.
Just my preference. Just don't get me started on the Season 4 KITT fiasco!

Season1-2

Post by ThunderChild » Tue Feb 20, 2007 6:04 am

There's just something about the white vertical lines giving the Season 1-2 dash more character! Furthermore, I agree with the push buttons being more practical...

...and 2 monitors are better than 1. Try 3D animation with 1 monitor, then try it with 2. Then you'll know what I'm talking about.

The only aspect of S-3/4 I'd choose is the LED's.

My personal final opinion: Season 1/2 Dash.

PS- One question: Does anyone prefer the solid red square Vox?
