You can see some of the parts Rob Louisell Sent hanging in the garage... :D

I see that the car pictured is a hard top.. I don't know if that cover on the car is going to be on the car or how that is ..."explained or exactly when this scene takes place in relation to the storyline...

From what I "do know" this fits in with what I know was sent to Barris/Universal by Rob...

KITT Lives...! :D

I don't know if I should feel better or offended... a hard top, wrong tail lights, and definitely the wrong rims. BOOOO!

Who am I kidding? At least its a firebird even if its only for a moment in the show.

I've seen this blog days ago and I chose not to report it because I am not convinced it's as authentic as it's made out to be as an actual shooting location for the tv series nor the concept of them "rebuilding KITT" in the pilot itself.

Based on what I've been told about the tv pilot script, KITT is already built and disappeared along with Michael. Showing them "rebuild" KITT in the backdoor pilot wouldn't make much sense.

If KITT was damaged to the point of needing to be rebuilt, why bother when you have the KITT (3K) built?

I would buy that this might be the garage where Barris is working on making a season four KITT for the cameo/flashbacks but not as part of the script.

There is nothing to indicate in these photos that any of what is pictured isn't just some guy in the process of building a KITT replica in his garage, passing it off as part of the tv series.

Forgive me if I do not buy into the idea that some random stranger who was aware of filming was let on to NBCU's private shoot without any credentials what so ever and was allowed to photograph it without any objection from NBCU.

I know for a fact with motion pictures you are not allowed anywhere inside a soundstage/set to get this close to it without either knowing someone who is working on the project or have been invited by the studio (not a film crew member) to report on it. I suppose it is possible that NBCU just doesn't care to keep a lid on things but that's speculation at this point.

Just doesn't add up for me but it's possible it's real. Until I see further proof I'm taking this spoiler report with a grain of salt.

Very cool pics, thanks for sharing and keep it up.

Did anyone notice the black leather seat at the last pic, maybe their updating the interior of KITT? I hope they really show KITT a good amount in the show instead of stupid flashbacks like KR 2000.

Also VK think about it, if KITT was returning with MK in the last third or so in the script maybe something happened to him and they rebuilt KITT to aid with the new KITT, why would they just dispose of him, he's a legend

Awesome pics!! I hope they do turn out to be true and I'm glad that filming has begun. We're that much closer.

Actually the black seat seems like a Mustang unit... maybe they are kinda interchanging parts? But yes... its strange for them to use a hardtop... but then again the Mustang won't be a T-top either... unless they would modify it into one.

Maybe they'll give Kitt a new designation number after this major overhaul. He was 2000 in his TA body but because of a complete technological refit, he will be given the series number 3000.

Rob Louisell has confirmed the hood with the primered air inlet and rear bumper shown in the photos are indeed the hood he sent in thru Barris.

Now as far as the interior dash and such we will have to wait and see.

I know that one of my voiceboxes I designed for KITT replicas and manufactured by Lectric Enterprises was used in some fashion in the dash sent in so we'll see...

http://knight-f2k4.com/images/voicebox01.jpg

However, the Knight 3000 is a Mustang as pictured.

The Knight 4000 was to make an appearance as well in that garage but the producer decided to not use it at the last minute as the appearance of the 4000 before the 3000 was not logical.... that comes directly from the owner of the Knight 4000 on a post made on our board...

I'm surprised they couldn't just buy/borrow an existing replica? Or even borrow the Hoffs? I'm sure he got 2 from the show and kept hold of one of them.

This makes me fear maybe the only appearance of our old KITT is something similar to the KR2000 movie, the dismantled KITT with some random parts and only a stripped Trans-Am body left.
I hope we'd see again some good old Knight Rider action with David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight driving the old '82 KITT in the new tv-pilot :)

I would consider the fact that someone with a complete replica may be a little reticent to allow it to be dismantled and torn apart....

I know I wouldnt want a studio prop department monkeying around with mine were mine finished...

Barris owns a very nice 4th season replica.

I think you're right. It will probably be just an extension of the idea they had in Knight Rider 2000 - KITT in peices. Or maybe they will build up the body just to pass off as KITT in some way i.e. in the background of a scene. But as I mention before, why not get a pre-built one for that, like the one from the "Jump In My Car" video?

If I were to venture a guess, they're building a new fourth season KITT in order to destroy it in some way or put it in a situation that would involve possible damage to it (action scene maybe). Otherwise why bother when you can borrow someone else's replica for a few updated shots that wouldn't require much action?

If this is a fourth season KITT, why use a season 1 voice unit with the ugly flashing red box? Personally I've always preferred the animated voice lines unit to the red flashing light. I've always loved Scheffe's rounded buttons though.

The plot thickens...

What it looks like to me is that Michael kept a low profile and lives quietly and alone. I would think since Knight Rider 2000 that he had re-acquired K.I.T.T.'s remaining parts and chips, and has since been trying to rebuild him with his newly-found mechanical/technical skills that he all of a sudden had in Knight Rider 2000.

Exactly what I was thinking.

That isn't the flashing red "pilot" box.. it is for the animated bar graphs.

Ok,

I apologize for the confusion but I have seen this set up before and it's usually with the voice modulator box in place, not just a red gel that covers over it, hence the notion it looks more like a season 1 pilot box.

Nonetheless, it certainly isn't a 4th season voice modulator, which is what it should be if we last saw the '82 Trans Am in "Voo Doo Knight." I suppose these smaller details aren't important to NBC Universal in the overall picture, though.

Wait I'm confused, is KITT returning fully and then getting damaged, or is KITT returning damaged and found with MK trying to fix him all along. I hope we see the original KITT as a Trans Am and driving around somewhat at least like the show with some action and not like KR 2000.

Is that supposed to be Michael Knight's garage after he vanashed with KITT and he has been fixing it the whole time? Why is the spoiler not from the 82-84 style (T-Style) and the back is isn't blacked out? I hope KITT returns fully!

Sorry for the third post but I see now the spoiler from the original hanging and some other parts that I didn't recognize and I think I see the steering wheel on top of the blue tool chest on the forth pic down, bottom right hand corner you may see it.

Can't wait to see the original KITT we all loved! BTW I hope they have EVERYTHING orignal like the rims for one I dont't even see just some chrome ones and that seat looks interesting to be in KITT, maybe interchanging parts, who knows?

Also if Bruce Davison (Knight 3000 creator) was on the set and supposdly with David Hasselhoff maybe he was giving insight and help in rebuilding KITT.

the chevy-orange 350 (why not pontiac blue?) with the gaudy weiand blower intake doesn't exactly look like a turbine engine.

It would be chevy orange since Pontiac quit putting ponchos in their cars since 1979. It was cheaper to just use the same engine across all 3 brands of GM vehicles.
