It would be chevy orange since Pontiac quit putting ponchos in their cars since 1979. It was cheaper to just use the same engine across all 3 brands of GM vehicles.
I was aware of the Chevy motors post-79, but I thought they were still painted Pontiac Blue.

Either way... the Chevy block is a MAJOR downgrade from KITT's original turbine engine. :roll:
