It's been a very long time since I've seen Voodoo Knight, but I'm curious, would it be regarded so sourly if it wasn't made to be the series finale?
I feel like if it was in the middle of the season no one would really care, but the fact that the show had to end on such a mediocre note. Scent of Roses was defiantely a mose fitting end, can't imagine what NBC or whoever the 'powers that were' were thinking.

Michael: "KITT! Where are ya?!"
K.I.T.T.: "I'm in your parking space, Michael, where else would I be?"

Definitely an interesting thought. Well, the episode would have been at least slightly different if it wasn't filmed to be the finale, because Patricia McPherson would have been available at any earlier point in the season. She was absent in the finale with no explanation (though the real reason was she had a prior film commitment). I think the episode definitely gets a worse reputation because it was the finale, but it still would have sucked no matter where it was in the season. It's just too silly of a premise for the show, I think.cloudkitt wrote:It's been a very long time since I've seen Voodoo Knight, but I'm curious, would it be regarded so sourly if it wasn't made to be the series finale?

I often thought of it as NBC trying to keep the series afloat by offering the best up front. Sort of fitting to run out the series on the worst episode, honestly. Very forgetable...and even a bit of a leaper to state the story goes on...even without the cameras.
