Desert Intro Location - FOUND!

This was posted a few years' back - does anyone know who this is or if he took some other shots that day? I remember this picture was on a Knight Rider message board a long time ago - that's where I found it. This is clearly the same location as where the opening title shots were filmed. Check it out:

Utah, eh? I've heard that before but always thought it was somewhere in the Nevada desert. Would make sense considering the first episode takes place in Vegas. Utah seems so far from the normal filming locations in California and Nevada.

Hey i alwas wonderd how did the sky turn purple during the Knight rider entrance lol never seen a purpelish sky before so thought i ask

The purplish effect was created using a special filter. They could bring out reds, blues, greens... they chose purple to give the titles a "mystical" feel.

I've read somewhere that the filming location may have been El Mirage dry lake bed in California.

The Bonneville Salt flats, Are also Where alot of the land speed record attempts are staged.
