Dutch election commercial (on topic)

Post by Solid Snake » Fri Nov 10, 2006 6:36 pm

As you might have heard on the news we in Holland will be having elections soon to deside who will run the country the next 4 years. Now just to fill you in real quick. We in Holland have one of the fastest and most modern ways of voting and counting votes. About 90% of our votes are cast on voting computers, instead of a piece of paper! So that means that with a touch of a button you, the voter, have the power to change things! Now watch this COOLEST voting commercial ever made, you will see why I like it so much. It shows all sorts of things that are part of our pop culture and everyday life, all button related ofcourse. A very clever thought out commercial if you ask me :D !

Uh, Solid Snake, I hope your electronic voting machines aren't rigged by political bullies, like they are here in the U.S., at all, and may the best person win legally there in Holland.
Anyway, great video of KITT's turbo boost!

I like the way they've used popular culture in the advert to make it look cool to vote.

Lyn: I hope that the best will win too! And well most of our machines are bulletproof except for some older ones who emit a buzzing that you could pick up with equipment and with that you could identify what has been voted, but those errors were discovered early and those machines were replaced.

Speaking about the commercial I love it how they indeed used pop culture to promote voting, very clever commercial to be honest! Really makes me wanna vote! But I love it too how Knight Rider became a part of Dutch pop culture too... amazing really! Some show huh  .

Uh, Solid Snake, there's a little bit of a mix-up there; I wasn't talking about bullets or them being bulletproof at all, just very corrupt politicians who rig the voting machines' result so that a particular political party can win the election unfairly.
Hopefully that will clear things up for you some....
