KITT Cars

Post by James_kr » Thu Nov 09, 2006 5:27 am

Everyone must have noticed the different KITT cars in the show. Things like in the pilot when you see an original nose instead of the KITT one. I have noticed a few things such as this:

From the episode "Big Iron"

Image

Obiously they had one to spare to roll down a hill instead of a model. It has the incorrect seats, nose and a clear dummy

I should also point out when it hits the bottom the back spoiler has clearly been damaged.

What things have you noticed about KITT cars in the show?

Interesting to note that they cut from this shot of the real car to a shot of a model (with no T Tops) rolling over then cut back to the real car. It looks like the real car didn't roll the way they intended, so they used a model which had a "perfect roll" to add to the effect rather than wreck another car. Thank goodness for that!

I also noticed that the windscreen was smashed when the car stopped rolling. I guess it would have been a bit tricky to prevent breakage on a real car unless they used MBS glass or something like that ...

I have noticed an other Trans Am in the Episode Knight of the Drones Part One. The red Car crahses into Sandy, Michael makes a 180 and in the Moment you see KITTs Frontnose. But its not the Original Nose. When Michael Brakes in front of the red Car you see the Nose Again.

I think it's just the S2 nose with the turn signal black outs missing.

No, it's definitly a stock nose with the rubber grilles removed and
some fog lights put in. It also has the scanner cut out cut into it.
Guess they ran out of KITT noses for some shots.

another good one was when kitt was hit by goliath you can see he has a stock flat firebird hood when he is flipping over and comes to a stop but in the begging of part 2 he has the regular scooped trans am hood :?:

KITT: "I want custody of ME!"

Do you know whose car that is? I wonder how difficult it is to modify the factory bumper to get a scanner fitted and have it look so neat! :?

Are you talking about the car in the screenshot that was posted from "Knight of the Drones" or "Big Iron"? If "Drones", then this is the same car. The car in the screen shot from "Big Iron" has a completely stock Firebird nose.

Something is funny about the nose in the pilot. Where's the vents/grills on the front it looks like they are covered over.
