Funny little Knight 2000 Voice Car website...

Post by lucid hysteria » Mon Oct 30, 2006 1:50 am

Hey guys,

I recently did a small website about the Knight 2000 Voice Car (most of you will know it - great old KITT toy that talks) for a web design project at school. The assignment was to take a product and make a website that tells some sort of narrative using elements of the product's packaging. Kind of weird and abstract. But I chose my old Voice Car and took a sort of goofy approach...

Check it out and maybe have a quick laugh...

http://lucidorum.com/ars332/project2/
(and when you get to the "Scanner indicates danger ahead" page, click on the big main image - there are two hidden pages after it (so click on the image again after you get to the first hidden page); so 3 "Scanner indicates danger ahead" pages, in all)

And for those of you who haven't seen this product before, you can see the front of the actual box (which mine is based on) at http://lucidorum.com/ars332/project2/im ... iginal.jpg

Enjoy!

That big monster thing happened :)

Incidentally, that is not, of course, the Voice Car that's destroyed - that's the most recent 1:18 scale (at least, if I remember correctly) die cast model, which I only destroyed because the bottom half of it had already melted off when I accidentally left it on top of my furnace one night last winter, haha...

And, unfortunately, if you look closely, I committed a huge Knight Rider no-no on that last page by flipping that image (so the vent thing on KITT's hood is on the wrong side), because it fit the box better that way (but in my defense, this was made for class, and I knew my classmates wouldn't know the difference, hehe)...

Agreed, I thought that one was very funny!

I was thinking about displaying that picture in-line here, but it would ruin the build up and effect, so clicking the link above has to be done ...

The last one looks like KITT after battling Goliath.

Awesome job, lucid hysteria! You definitely get an "A" for creativity in my book. I love how you came up with that.

I wonder, is this site not working, or is my net giving me out again. :/

Great Job! I haven't heard those phrases since my friends and I had our talking K.I.T.T.'s way back in the 80's!

The pictures were well done too, I really like how there's a theme for every phrase. Hope you got a great mark!
