MBS or no MBS

I am not sure if i have asked this question before but....

the other day i was watching season 4, the episode where kitt drives through the Lava, now kitt said that he isnt sure how much his MBS can handle when the temperature was getting too high, but we all know is the season opener for season 4 kitt loses his MBS....

I know this may be a silly question just was wondering if they made a mistake or what...

The MBS was re-applied at the time of the end of Knight of the Juggernaut or at the intervall between Juggernaut and Kittnap
