Michael Long - hood on Trans Am

Post by James_kr » Fri Jun 30, 2006 7:51 am

I bet everyone has noticed when Michael Long was shot he fell onto the hood of his Trans Am and you can see the engine I don't know why I don't think Michael Long was heavy enough to smash through the hood.

I was a bit confused as to what it actually was meant to be because it was pretty hard to make out.

It was obviously some damage done to the car but I couldn't tell if the engine was visible or not.

Here is a picture of when he falls on the hood and you can see the engine.

where do you see the engine.

I see reflections off the hood and scoop and the decal just behind him.

NO engine! Your seeing things that aren't there.

He did leave some streaks down the hood (blood or something) that
makes the reflections your seeing.

Somebody here also says the same.

"What happened there please with the hood? Even if Michael draufgeschmissen themselves after the shot in the head with full force have: The man weighs nevertheless no ton! That looks as if an elephant would have itself draufgesetzt… "

It looks like the gold Pontiac emblem to me. No engine is visible, only some sort of crushed metal or reflection. :)

It's smudges on the finish as he fell off and the friggin' Trans-Am logo! Get your glasses checked if you think it's an engine.

The Phoenix is not on the engine. Only on the hood.

Thats just some scuff marks on the hood.

As I said, it is a reflection of trees and the night time sky on the hood.

Remember, it was a NEW car so it was nice and shiney! Though
he did leave some type of liquid trail as he slid down the hood.
That and if it was the enigine (which it is not) he would not have
slid down it, he would have fallen INTO the opening. Simple logic.

The engine is UNDER the hood!

That and the engine would not be THAT FAR UP on the car. its back
towards the windshield. Your seeing something way up towards the
nose. HELLO..................

If my engine looked like that, I'd sell the damn car too!

just a thought but is it possibly some sort of lubricant so the actor WOULD slide off the bonnet (ok, "hood") for that scenes dramatic effect...

i can just hear KITT from k2000 "i want a full 'simonize' by YOU...."

(after all the messes KITT had in TOS and he wants waxing after a little water????)

I have to admit though, if it's just superficial car damage then it is very bad looking because it can confuse the viewer as to what it actually is.

Even I am not totally convinced it's actually damage but something else. It seems like the camera hasn't fully focused on the centre of the car and it's a big blurry splodge.

its 'lens flare' from the headlights refracting in the camera, the small gold part IS a firebird logo....

on a slightly different note, does anyone know why they bothered giving Michael Long a black and gold T/A as his car at the beginning, considering it would have been cheaper to give him any other car???? (so the T/A could be used for stunts without having a new paint job....)

or why not just use one of the KITT cars but without the illuminated dash...??

I guess so the scene where Michael believes that KITT is really his old car, would be more believable.

I never knew what it was before when I saw it on the website I thought maybe it was engine... I was wrong. Looking at it now it does look a bit like reflections of something above. I don't know how it could reflect so well!

BTW I DON'T DO DRUGS I AM FOURTEEN!!!!! I never plan to either! Dammit pewter 02ws6!! Lol

It's called foreshadowing. It's a plot device, nothing more. Though, I think the other poster is right, because Michael thought KITT was built from his car at first (he even continued to believe it for awhile after Devon corrected him), and they wanted Michael to think this at the beginning. In reality, Michael's TA was just left in the desert, along with a body for the cops to find so they'd think he was dead. (April shows a newspaper clipping in a season 2 episode that confirms this.)

They stole a body from a medical school. It's explained in the pilot.

The pilot was aired yesterday and I got a good glimpse at the hood. It never gets dented, or anything, it's Michael's blood plus (probably) the desert sand, it's "just" smudge. There is a golden Firebird logo at the front end of the hood, it is clearly visible that it's a flat surface and doesn't belong to the engine...

Come on people - it is just the reflection of the trees and the night time sky.
