Bowling Ball Hub Caps
Hey everyone. I got a 92 firebird and Im looking to make it to have a similar look to KITT. My firebird was sold with the stock rims. Heres a pic.

I cant find or probably afford turbo cast aluminum rims. Will I still be able to secure bowling ball hub caps to my stock rims? Any info will help.
Thanks.

Nah I got somone who will sell me 4 going at 75$ each. Getting the hubcaps isint a problem. But will I be able to secure bowling ball hub caps to my stock rims. Or do they only go over the turbo cast which I doubt. I just dont want to buy the caps and I need to go out of my way to alter them and risk damaging them to get them to stay on my stock rims.

On those specific wheels, there is no way to put Bowling ball caps and make it sit flush or look even. Your better off keepoing an eye on eBay for the 14" Turbo Cast wheels. Hell, You can even get a set of the 15" Turbo Fin wheels and modify the 14" bowling ball caps to fit on the wheel.
Here is a 14" Wheel with Hubcap.
Here is a 1983 Trans Am with 15" Turbo Fins.

I couldn't justify getting real bowling ball hubcaps. I've heard horror stories about how they like to fall off and break. Get the look-alikes, made by many of the companies that make parts for KITT conversions. Cheaper, and they tend to be made so that they won't fall off. They also look the same.

They tend to fall offf, Yes. However, you can use the zip tie method and it will stay on forever. You's lose the whole wheel before you lose the hubcap.
Heres a Link to the Zip Tie Method.

The Bowling ball Hubcaps can fit onto the Turbo Finned Wheels with slight modification to the Hubcaps. The EXACT Wheels to the show are the Turbo Cast Wheels.
Heres a tech article for the modification of the Bowling ball caps.

Its not possbile to add the hubcaps to your current wheels. However, Turbo Finned Wheels come up on eBay often and go for cheap. Look Up Trans Am and Firebird Wheels on eBay.

The zip tie method can be used on Turbo Cast and Turbo Finned wheels.
