Bought my donor car

I finally got my donor car for my KITT replica today. I happen to stumble on one of the best deals I have ever seen, so I impulse bought it. Never thought I would have done that ever...especally with a car. Anywho I got a Firebird 82 SE for 1800 USD. It included the round shifter (of course) PMD seats, 4 bowling ball hubcaps in awesome condition, 15' turbo cast wheels, the Aero spoiler, t-top and the origenal 305. The 305 isn't in bad shape, its actually quite clean and running well which I was surprised because of its age and at 125k mi. I will want to replace it eventually, but it can wait. ^^ It is in overall awesome condition, passed smog no problem and carfax report came up clean! It was owned by the same owner for 21 years, she had recently passed and gifted it to her nephew. Aparently he did not want it and wanted to get rid of it for 2500. I got him to lower it down due to a few cosmetic problems (no drivers side mirror, seals deteriorating, small electrical problems, and no drivers side lock, which is just broken). Meh, his loss.

The only things I don't have is the crowl hood and the front air extractors. I am not too worried about it tho since they're somewhat common out here in CA.

Anywho, pic time of my new lil' baby:

Thats awesome. I'm sure Marks 'Customs and a few other people will be doing well ^^. I guess this is a sign that the lot of us kids are getting older and are able to afford a second car (this is my second car besides my 99 jetta )

Wow, you got a pretty good deal with all that stuff. I am currently looking for a firebird or TA to be my KITT conversion. I have always wanted a car to work on and this would be the perfect thing for me. One day I will have my own KITT to drive around...hehe. Congrats to you on a great find!

I have been keeping a eye on ebay for a while now. I found one a hour away but it didn't have t-tops. :( So that one was out. There was another one close to me and I called about it and it had been sold. :( it was a 85 TA. Oh well I will find one sometime. I saw one today that was a 92 but it was kinda in bad shape for the price so that one is out. Plus I don't want one that year, 82-86 is what I want. I am doing a first season KITT with the plain red voice box. I am thinking over what episode I would like to do my KITT after. It will be between these:
A Good Day at White Rock
Not a Drop to Drink
Trust Doesn't Rust
Inside Out
A Plush Ride

I guess I will figure that out after I get my car. ;)

i was chatting with ogoldwings on yahoo messenger. I ALMOST got my own donor car. I let it slip through my fingers

89 Pontiac Trans Am t-top, needed paint and the rear wing was missing, rear seats were missing the fabric, only the foam under the fabric was there. It had the TPI (tuned port injection) 350 V8 and 4 speed auto, 4 wheel discs (aka the WS6 package). The car sold for 450 bucks! . I tried to find my dad who was with me at the auction to bid on it. As much as i would LOVE to have a KITT replica, this car would be better restored than converted. I would rather have a 82/83 like goldie's for my conversion 8) .

I registered at the Foundation tonight. I tried checking out the registeries...are they having problems with they're website?

I also went to the pull yard today...found some awesome treasures. ^^

They're was a 84 trans am I pulled the passenger side front fender air extractors plus passenger side ground effects. The other side had taken quite a hit (accident) so nothing was usable. I did grab the drivers side mirror off a later model, mine was missing.

Tomorrow I am hoping to find a Transmission Dip stick, I was checking mine tonight (along with the other fluids) the metal was stressed, and broke. Even better there was NO trans fluid in it...no wonder why it was not shifting correctly. (Drove it home the other day and it seemed reluctant.) I also took a look at my coolant, washer and break, all which are foul and putrid. Nearly passed out when I got a whiff of the break and coolant. :puke:. Yeah, the poor thing had been sitting for quite awhile.

The good news is that before he sold it, it looks like he replaced all the hoses, oil and tires on it. :D

Goldwings not too sure how soon you want it, but it has to stay on my car till I get my aftermarket hood I have ordered. But you can see it on my car here, its in good condition has two small dings that can be repaired very easily.

Judging from the pictures, you might have 14" wheels. Since the car is a Firebird S/E it comes standard with 14" wheels. If the wheel measures 15" in diameter, it's considered the 14" wheel. Now, if the wheel measures 16 inches you have yourself the 15" wheels. 8)

Really? I thought they only made bowling ball hubcaps for the 15' wheels. I did just go and measure it, and it did measure 15' in diameter. If this is true then I do have the 14'. Ah well, I am not too much of a stickler when it comes to the wheels. I am just happy I have that + the hubcaps.

The wheels look almost identical. Not much of a difference. As long as you have the wheels, it's all good.

Finally, up and viewable!

Also another quick question: After registering do they verify your address by sending you a camero/firebird catalog? I got one in the mail yesterday and that is the only site I gave my address to.

heres a few pointers!????....look at the list ,it states no car!....you obviously have one now!....not to mention you have a model firebird,year,cylinders,engine,transmission,t-tops,interior,door armrest.....most people who register forget to finish completing the info and then you end up with a very low score!
