is there a specific date for the release given?
all i know is that release was scheduled for sometime in mid of may, which means a release would be imminent.

Based on this powerseller from ebay, KARR will be due out in September, 2005. Here's the link to his preselling KARR auction:

That might just be his interpretation. I found the colour of KARR's scanner in the episode to be in between an orange & a yellow. Very faded colour, but I wouldn't call it yellow at all.

There's a few things I don't like about this.

1. Anywhere I have looked on the net, I can never see the scanner to see what colour it is for myself.

2. No one realy seems to know an exact relase date.

I agree 100% the scanner has to be yellow, it won't be Karr otherwise.

And on the release date, I think we'll just have to wait, as is part and parcel for anything KR, Waiting :x

I can tell you that the Aoshima version's is amber/orange. I'm assuming Ertl's will be the same, but only time will tell.

I've made a few trips to Radio Shack to see if I could buy some clear 3mm yellow LEDs but I can only find the 3mm yellow tinted LEDs in variety packs. It's the same effect either way, but the models use the clear LEDs and I wanted to be consistent with my K.I.T.T. model.

I'll have to buy 3 variety packs to get 5 yellow LEDs and solder them into my model. I'm not sure if they even make the 3mm clear yellow LEDs; I've found every color in 3mm except yellow.

that is what i had to do for my custom karr. there are a few places that sell the yellow 3mm LEDs online. i just picked up the ones from R/S for a quick fix. they actually even have different shades of yellow LEDs available on the one site with various brightnesses to choose from. i got wrapped up in othe things like usual and never got around to ordering them. i may have book marked the site. if i can find it, i will post it in here.

AFAIK, there are no new RC KITT or KARR models in stores right now. Your best bet in locating these scarce toys is ebay.

This is the only remote control KITTs & KARRs I know of. I have KITT, its really cool for playing with, especially in small areas, but it does have funny proportions.

The rims look better on KARR than they did on KITT.

What I don't get is why they made the K.A.R.R. version midnight blue on top. (It's a sharp contrast against the black windows.) That is, if we're talking about the same RC series as I know there's a couple.

Check out this link guys. Its a finished auction from ebay regarding a Kenner radio controlled KITT. The wheels aren't true to a real Trans Am, but what the heck, it still looks great and must be quite fun to play with (the red front scanner even lights up!). If only I had the $53.00 or so in order to win it from the seller when it was still up for grabs. :(

They sold something similar in the UK but different packaging as I remember I really wanted one when I was a child.

I'm actually more excited about the Recaro Firebird than KARR since we already know how it will look like. The Recaro we still have no idea, no prototype pics, nothing. I can't wait for it to appear at my local hobby shop. :D
