Newsweek looked back on the year with a collection of their best previously published comics and quotes. Among them is this:

"I'm proud of shows like 'Baywatch' and 'Knight Rider' because it's about saving lives, not taking lives. It's entertainment, it's tongue in cheek, it brings the world together. I think it's responsible for a lot of world peace." - David Hasselhoff, on his artistic legacy, while accepting the Bollywood movie award for international star of the year

Although I'm sure Newsweek was sort of mocking the quote, by publishing it again they're showing how much influence Hasselhoff has worldwide.

and still continuing with all the reruns and dvd releases of his shows.

Well, Newsweek could've published a quote from some much dumber celebrities, but I'm glad the magazine included that quote from DH just the same, though....
