This is a nice exhibit, but if you bid all your money is going towards the frame and display case. At the Sci Fi Summit convention last year, a vendor was selling envelopes of 10-20 film cels each from old TV shows and movies, including Knight Rider. I picked up a few from 50 cents to 2 dollars per envelope.
With shipping, the starting bid is about 25 U.S. dollars (although he's only shipping in the U.K.) That might not be a bad price for the display case, but I don't think the cels are as valuable as people think.
Of course, the true value of any ebay item is whatever someone is willing to pay for it. I've certainly overpaid for items in the past, so I don't mean to discourage bidding. Just bid wisely.
