Knight Rider Sudoku

Post by Michael Pajaro » Wed Nov 30, 2005 12:10 am

There's a new fad (to the U.S.) hitting the newspapers: Sudoku puzzles. They are logic games where you have to arrange the digits 1-9 in a grid such that every row, column, and small box of 9 contains all the digits.

I'm making a few Knight Rider Sudoku puzzles. They work the same way as the regular game, except you use letters instead of numbers. For those of you who already play Sudoku, this should be fairly simple. For those who have never tried one, it may be an easy introduction.

Nice to hear.

It's the same in Finland: suddenly Sudoku everywhere.

I have to admit that even I have become addicted to Sudoku. Never thought it'd be possible to combine them to Knight Rider. Very fun idea. I'll give it a try on my way from work to home (by bus that is :-)).

P.S. I myself have developed something nice KR-related "items" too that I thought would be nice to share with this board. Soon you'll know what they are.

Done in lunch break. I flipped the solution 90 degrees clockwise to avoid spoiling the pleasure from others. So rotate your head to the right to see the answers. Or did I get it right? :-)

I printed it out so I can do it maybe tomorrow after work. I bought a book of Sudoku puzzles and were doing a lot of these in the few days before I moved. They are fun, and rather addicting. :) I never tried one with letters. The one I got for my cell phone also uses symbols.

They are relatively easy. You have to place the numbers 1 - 9, or in this case the letters that spell Knight Rider (omiting one i and one r, just using K N I G H T R D E) in the squares so that each group of 9 squares, and each row and column of the whole puzzle never has the same number or letter twice and uses each number or letter once only. Once you start doing them, it can be rather addicting. :)
