On Location in Chicago - Knight of the Juggernaut

Post by neps » Sun Aug 14, 2005 11:34 pm

Hey Everyone,

A couple of months back I was sent to Chicago on business. This was my first time in the city, and I wanted to take the opportunity to track down some shooting locations for the Season 4 opener "Knight of the Juggernaut."

I was able to find quite a lot of the episode, and I put it together in a little package, check it out. See what Chicago looks like twenty years later:

On Location: Chicago. Knight of the Juggernaut

Thanks of course goes to Joe Huth, who was helpful in providing me with a folders worth of screenshots and rough shooting locations, which really fueled the fire.

Pretty cool man. Thanks Neps for sharing. 8) Too bad they never taped Knight Rider in NYC. That would be cool. A bunch of us can get together and hunt down these locations. Too Bad.

Oooh, I love these. Everytime I go to Las Vegas, or more recently, San Francisco, I try to pick out places KR was shot in. However it's not all that easy to do it by memory.

I would of gotten more from my San Francisco trip if season 3 was on DVD and I could of referenced stuff like you did. Best I got was a shot of the Golden Gate Bridge while going over it. I have lots of images of other parts of the city, but no way to go back and figure what's where. x.x

And of course Las Vegas changes it's face every 2 years, so it's impossible to pick out certain parts that are the same.

It's pretty neat to see what all's changed in the past 20+ years. ^^

I especially like how you pasted a shot from the show to match up with the angles on your picture, neps. Good job! I enjoyed seeing what those locations look like 20 years later. Most of them really haven't changed all that much. If I'm not mistaken, that water fountain is also the same one used in the opening of Married...With Children.

Fantastic photo essay! I can see a LOT of effort went into that. Neps, you done one heck of a great job. :) WOW, it's amazing to see how things change in 20 years, including how sharp and colorful your photos were compared to the show's screen shots. :)

Also in the scene where KITT gets into position near the overpass thing, there were a LOT of people in the overpass thing (was that East Madison, I think?) and along the whole street and looks like blocking it. As if to see KITT or something. :)

That is awesome Neps! I love to see how things looked a long time ago compared to now. Not much has changed in 20 years with the exception of a new building or two built . You did a great job! :D

Great work Neil.....its really wierd seeing some buildings that were still being constructed, when KOTJ was filmed....and now they are complete.

That's really awesome. It's true how things haven't changed, but I am amazed at some of the changes that HAVE happened. That Wabash Ave looks totally different! The No Right turn Sign is now a red arrow in lights.

It's really cool, and intriguing to look at 20 years difference on a city....

Great job!!

You never cease to amaze me with your talents. I love how you have set up the photos. The little differences from then and now are just incredible. Its hard to believe 20 years have gone by......

Those are some great pictures. Neps, did you work on the set of Knight Rider for that episode? If not then how were you able to find the exact location and pictures from the original filming of that episode?
