K.I.T.T. on Speedvision this Saturday
It's been a while since I've chimed in here, but I figured this was worth a post. (I apologize if this has already been brought to your attention.)
This Saturday morning (6:30am PST) on Speedvision's Dream Car Garage: Tom the Knight Rider.
Check here for the show schedule.
I've never seen the show before, but it looks like K.I.T.T. will be making an appearance.
Anyway, until next time...

If your in NH, then it will be on at 9:30am. He is out west andKnightRiderGirl wrote:I won't be up that early to watch it! lol
I'll just watch it's repeat either on Sunday or Monday
the time zones make his show on earlier. I for one am taping it.
This is Rob Lousiells Universal Fully Licensed car he just sold to
someone in Florida. The show takes it for a test drive and soon.
Gonna be cool.

I know it's going to be on at 9:30 am. You have to understand I'm a college student, and I sleep in until 10 amknightdriver wrote:If your in NH, then it will be on at 9:30am. He is out west andKnightRiderGirl wrote:I won't be up that early to watch it! lol

I just watched this. (Spoliers ahead).
Franky, I wonder if it was really worth it. It wasn't really KITT in the truest sense, such as a Barris or Universal picture car, but a homemade replica. That said, it was a BEAUTIFUL, VERY detailed replica and the owners should be proud of themselves. Seeing the car, however, was the highpoint of the segment.
Aside from that, all the Speed Channel guy did was seem to diss the car. He never called it KITT once, he drove it SLOWLY, so once he was behind the wheel it didn't really seem like KITT any more. Given he was on a racetrack, it was kind of like seeing the reluctant KITT retesting after repair in Junkyad Dog.
Not content with that, he's obviously not a Knight Rider fan and never saw the show. Granted, we KNOW it's a replica, we KNOW none of that stuff worked on the "real" KITT, but he destroyed the illusion totally by saying such derogatory things as:
...just a 1981 Firebird
...the doodads on the dash don't really do anything
...ridiculous steering control
...would you really buy an '81 Firebird for this
etc etc.
Then, near the end, the voice player in the car said something in KITT's voice (a recording of William Daniels from the series) and he answered it saying something like, "Keep your opinions to yourself, car," to which Speed played the reply "Not just a car..." from Peter Cullen/KARR in Trust Doesn't Rust. Not even KITT's voice!
What a moron! Pity they couldn't have pulled a "Chuck Wallyburton" on him at the end of the segment.

My thoughts exactly. I liked looking at the car, but next time, I'll be watching the show with the sound off.Aside from that, all the Speed Channel guy did was seem to diss the car. If you'd be so kind as to put me down.
Down?
My dear, I'm a car. Not a plane.

Why on earth would they feature a car on the show and then do nothing but diss it? If I were the owner I think I'd be a little pissed, especially knowing all the work that went into completing car. It's also pathetic that the guy didn't even know that the car was an 82. I'm sure glad I didn't actually waste my time watching it.
Flyer Guy: "You really a talking car?"
KITT: "No. I'm a tight end for the Chicago Bears!"

Glad it wasn't just me that thought that way then.
One other point my wife brought up (who's not a fan, except because I watch it):
He kept referring to the car, instead of KITT, as "the Knight Rider," such as, "This car is accurate to the actual Knight Rider from the show..." and so on.
This is another obvious indication he didn't watch the show, since the actual Knight Rider was Michael, not KITT.

That guy has always annoyed me. He has an annoying condescending car salesman vibe to him. He doesn't really seem to know alot about cars. He showed that quite well by addressing it as an 81. If you host is an idiot at least have a staff to do research on the car. My feelings on Louisell asside, the car deserved better than being slyly ridiculed by that fat SOB.

Plus, correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no such thing as a KITT-style '81 Trans Am, right?
Wasn't the Trans Am that KITT was designed into brand new for 1982? The Trans Am that would have been around in '81 would have still been a Smokey-and-the-Bandit type, right?
If so, chalk another point up in the "moron" column for our buddy Tom.

Getting hit in the Jewels hurt. Aw, man my friend through a rock at me and it caught me in the tip of the jewels. I thought I was going to die.
