I used my mac! I imported the video through a DV deck through Firewire so I didn't loose any quality from the tape/dvd to computer. Then I imported them using final cut pro. I got the Knight Rider theme, then I got the Busta Rhymes song, and then I found an instumental version of the Busta song, and I spliced the three together.

What took the longest was finding the video and then finding the clips that I wanted and them splicing them together. Then choosing the length of your piece and fighting to make all the clips you want to fit. Took a few months only cause I wasn't able to work on it constantly. Probably about 15-20 hours solid.

Also I used After Effects for sci-fi titles that I will add back in this weekend.</STRONG><HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Blimey Neil!! lol
Ok i guess i need to get a dvd player for my pc and a tv tuner card to start with im now up to £100 plus....lol
This sort of thing really interest's me, i love making GFX graphics but this is the ultimate satisfaction.
Thanks for the tips.
BTW.. How long have you been doing them for? Have you got anymore??

Hey DJGM, you might want to try using an Avi to Mpeg Converter.
They're quite useful, and a nice free one i recommend is TMPGE Enc.

Thanks, but that software is only usuable if the source file is an avi type file.
Having looked at the website you posted the link to, it seems the encoder
software you've recommended doesn't work with .mov type files.

Speaking of which, I've noticed that video clips that you get on enhanced CD
singles are usually encoded in .mov format and only viewable with QuickTime.
If there was a way I could encode those into mpeg or wmv format, I could
use them in my "DJGM tv" video project that I'm currently working on . . .

I've never made one of these for Knight Rider, (My tapes weren't quality enough.) but they are (usually) fun to make.

Very impressive work,Neil!I got chills seeing that video, especially the first shot.Yes,some people hated the Busta Rhymes version of the KR theme, but in this case,I thought it complimented this shorty movie nicely.Good Job!
