one last treat for the anniversary...

in my portfolio class, we had to design a commercial for sci-fi channel. while all the teacher wanted was a general commercial for the channel, I wanted to design a commercial advertising knight rider on sci-fi channel. (pipe dream i know) but he's the boss so my idea went undeveloped.

i put together the video to complete the idea i had in my head. Personally, I like the busta rhymes song. I liked the theme song bassed out and busta screaming "fire it up" which always made me thing of kitt busting through fires and such.

so here, I present to you, a 50 second commercial for knight rider to a mix of the theme song from knight rider. it should have a 10 second sci-fi tag at the end, but wasn't sure if you would be interested in that. Please feel free to praise it or bash it. I'm posting this as neil the poster, not the admin. you guys boosted my ego plenty with the comments on the web design. cool clip neil !

if i had a tv tuner card id love to have a crack at makin some clips, i had an idea for one which starts off like yours, the full scene with hulk hogans wrestling music playing !

i am a real american.....etc etc

and just as the song starts thats when KITT jumps forward to michael, i had it nicely timed out, then it would cut to driving and turbo boost's and stuff.

what do you mean by not working? does it give you an error? are you using the latest quicktime? were you able to view the game clips I posted? Is the file you are trying to play 4.6mb in size?

BTW: I also noticed that something got messed up in the video. When Busta says "coming through" the clip where KITT goes throught the wall was supposed to play. I'll fix this over the weekend and put the last 10 seconds on to have the "sci fi" tag.

and thanks for the comments everyone, it's really appreciated. if only davilex would hire me, that would be pretty sweet to do. but I'm not moving to europe!

Top notch clip there. Any chance you could do an

what does a mpeg version bring that the quicktime clip doesn't? honest question, don't know the answer. or do you mean a clip at full resolution of 640x480 suitable for VCDing?

Maybe we should have a contest or an award for who can make the best 1 minute Knight Rider Commercial.

Just a Thought

No, not for VCD, I don't have the equipment for viewing VCD's. The
thing is I don't currently have QuickTime on my PC, only on my iMac.
For some odd reason, the new version 6.0 of the QuickTime program,
doesn't seem to want to work properly on my PC, so I can currently
only see your clip on my iMac. If it was in mpeg format (as well as
the .mov, format not necessarily instead of the .mov format), I
can see it on my PC in Windows Media Player or in RealPlayer.

On a sort of related note, I'm thinking of making an encoded video
clip of the DH interview, from the "So Graham Norton" progam, that
was shown on TV here in the UK earlier this year. I'll be doing this
in both Windows Media and Real Media format, which I might put
up on my own site for other members of this board to download,
in place of the "Liquid News" clip, discussing "Super KR 3000".

Download it with that or another program and see how you go.

try this. if you are on a mac hold down control and click or on a pc right click on the link and select download to disk.

that should download it to your computer and you should be able to view it there.

I used my mac! I imported the video through a DV deck through Firewire so I didn't loose any quality from the tape/dvd to computer. Then I imported them using final cut pro. I got the Knight Rider theme, then I got the Busta Rhymes song, and then I found an instumental version of the Busta song, and I spliced the three together.

What took the longest was finding the video and then finding the clips that I wanted and them splicing them together. Then choosing the length of your piece and fighting to make all the clips you want to fit. Took a few months only cause I wasn't able to work on it constantly. Probably about 15-20 hours solid.

Also I used After Effects for sci-fi titles that I will add back in this weekend.

Hey DJGM, you might want to try using an Avi to Mpeg Converter. They're quite useful, and a nice free one i recommend is TMPGE Enc.

Here's the link if you want to download the program.

TMPG Enc

The program is pretty self explanatory and relatively simple to use.

Hope this helps.
