More than one coat?

Post by Skav » Sun Sep 01, 2002 9:03 pm

Did they give hasselhoff different coats but of the same make in the series? or was it just the one jacket all the way through?

always have wondered about this. i suppose the coat would wear and tear if he wore the same for 4 years but it looked to be good leather so i guess it could have lasted!

plus i don't think KR's budget could afford £200 jackets all the time.

At the nats Don Peake told us that during the shooting of one episode David forgot his leather jacket, so Don let him borrow his own.

thanks for the help. so what about in general terms? did he change his coat every so often throughout the series?

and it was hasselhoff's OWN coat? considering the fact that the thing never really fit him, hasselhoff should check out the size of clothes before buying!

When I saw Barris' Kitt car on display last year they had Michael's jacket and comlink in a case there too. But it seems to me he had a different jacket at least part way through the series. So I think he went through two black jackets. I could be wrong.

Well, there were at least two different styles of jacket. The black one, and the one with the white stripe.

I'd imagine that they most likely had a fleet of jackets, because not only Hasselhoff had to wear them, but the stunt people too.

In addition, Skav, back in the 80's, tighter and barely the correct size were the style. Just look at the jeans.

Makes me cringe to think back to those times. and the hairstyles too. i think everyone was mad back then to even contemplate having overgrown, fluffy hair like that, lol!

We also saw Knight wear a variety of sports coats too.

There was also a very dapper denim jacket, in a season four episode I think, or maybe 'KITT Vs. KARR'. I noticed it because it wouldn't look like a museum artefact if it was worn today - something which is rare for Knight Rider fashion, especially Michael's!

And let's not forget his 'geography teacher' jacket, replete with leather elbow patches

Don't forget He wore a blue Leather Jacket on two different episodes also. The Pilot was one, and another one almost exactly like it in another episode, come to think of it, it might have been Voo Doo Knight. Plus in Many Happy Returns after He jumped into the water to escape the guys who chased him away from Quincy Divers he climbed up out of the water and put some Orange coat on id never seen before.

I can't say i remember the black coat with the white stripe on it.

I hated the white suit he wore in JYD right at the very end of the episode.

But saying that, i am gothic so i am only into black lol! but it really did look quite horrible.

i dunno if this has been mentioned but what about the jacket he wore in '19th hole'? it was white and green i think.

i remember this one only cos of the wardrobe dept screw up scene where he was wearing a black jacket in one shot and then reverted back to the white n green jacket in the next while still driving, lol!

The jacket didn't exactly have a stripe on it, I am not sure how to explain it, but it had a little white line across the shoulders, and appeared in Knight of the Chameleon, and I am pretty sure at least one other episode.

Now I remember. Wasn't it when the chameleon was posing as Michael and he wore the white striped jacket? So technically speaking, it wasn't Michael.

As for the other episode...was it Circus Knights? The part where Michael is holding into the back of KITT as he jumps through the ring of fire...thought he had a leather jacket with a white stripe going across his back. could be wrong though.

Actually, he wore a silver jacket in 'deadly knightshade' but i am sure there was a white stripe going across it somewhere.

Wasn't that a black satin jacket with white piping on the shoulder seams?

I think I know the type of jacket that KI and CK are referring to, and most likely, it was the plastic white "piping" (an apt description, because it did look like pipes in a sense, up close)over the shoulders at an angle. My family had a couple similar to it back in the day...
