Online translators still have a way to go.
Something about

"KITT? Should we get one more drink?"
"How can I drive again?"

Here's my guess as to how the humor would translate into english:

Michael: "One more for the road KITT?"
KITT: "You better drive"

But I'll leave it to the linguists out there.

alright.. i know german, but i'm not the best at it. this is what i got translating it to the best of my ability:

michael: "and KITT? should we go get a drink?"
KITT: "ah, yes. and should i drive us?"

pfft, i failed my german exam second year. that's what i think it says, anyway.

Your version definitely makes a lot more sense KITT. But it's just doesn't sound that funny to me.

I'm wondering if it's to do with some German
anti drink driving campaign, and maybe the
cartoon isn't really meant to be funny.

Michael Pajaro was very close:

Michael: "So, Kitt? What about going out for a drink?"
Kitt(bored): "...yeah, and I have to drive again, I guess"

I hope you understand a little better - it`s quite hard to translate because the joke also lies in the language (if you know what I mean)
Every disco-night`s discussion between me and my friends: "Who is going to drive back?" - KITT would be very useful in those situations...

away from the linguistics of the topic (big word for this time of day...)

anyone notice the way the TA nose was drawn, and then the custom peice 'stuck on' afterwards at the front?

Really? I thought that person looked more like Joe Schmole, the generic & unknown cartoon character then it resembled...anyone.

Knight Shadow from Germany should give us his opinion on this cartoon.

I think 'Manwhodoesnotexist' mentioned it earlier in this post as it being funny that it looks like the original nose and the added nose stick out in the cartoon.

Probably another little subtle in-joke of some sort from the cartoonist.
