The Return of the Knight Rider Legacy

In an effort to do a little bit of crowd control, and to keep people informed, I have been instructed to release the following, slightly potentially confusing press release for the Knight Rider Legacy book (from Richie Levine):

During the week to two week revision stage, the book is back up at Iuniverse in its old form at:
http://www.iuniverse.com/bookstore/book_detail.asp?isbn=0%2D595%2D23910%2D2

As far as the authors know, only up to the first chapter is showing. The revised manuscript is in, at approximately the same page length as before but with new additions and deletions.

It is available to purchase on Amazon at the moment with a bit of a delay, and should be back up at Barnes and Noble shortly.

The book's added additions are:

Michael Scheffe interview
42 more photos
Rebecca Holden interview

The stuff cut:

The entire KR2010 section
The entire TKR section
The entire TKR episode guide

Now, let me as Knightimmortal explain a few things here as it portains to this board:

1) At no time, will unproofed bashing of Michael Pajaro about this situation be tolerated. If you have proof to back up your complaint beyond hearsay, then you had better present it, but if you are going to spew just to spew, don't bother.

2) No personal bashing of the authors. If you are going to critique the book, or the practices behind the book, then make sure to keep it about the book. Yes, I know that there are going to be difficult feelings about the reissuance of a book this soon after the first edition had been released, and that you have to re-buy the book to get the new features, but that is the decision that was met to satisfy both sides of this conflict, and it is better than zero. Remember, keep the criticism clean.

Enjoy, and keep the dream alive.

Thank you all for your support. You won't be disappointed with the new version of the book. The Scheffe chapter is simply amazing - you'll learn all about K.I.T.T.'s dash and front nose design and construction straight from the man who designed it - Michael Scheffe! As Laura said, there are also 42 new pictures, including cast headshots and a behind the scenes photo of Rebecca Holden and David Hasselhoff showing off a "K.I.T.T. cake"! The back cover now boasts two color pictures from the series as well! This book has been trimmed to near perfection, and includes only the original series and Knight Rider 2000. Place your orders now! You won't be disappointed! Special thanks to Paul Sher for helping us out, and Laura for posting the original message!

Does anyone know any English websites I can get the KR Legacy (original version) book from? I don't want to pay the large shipping fees for odering from outside the UK!

Maybe this is slightly off topic (sorry about that) but is it just me or does anyone else having trouble to go http://www.knightriderlegacy.com ?

Another question, when will be released the updated version of the book?

Thanks

The site was under construction last I heard.

The new edition of the book should be back up around the first week of December, but no official announcement (from the authors via me) other than the one at the start of the thread has been made to officially verify it.

From what I have been told, the final proofs have been sent back, and the authors are going over them.

Stay tuned.

I personally only care for the original series (+ KR 2000).
My book from Amazon was delayed.
Even though I haven't seen...
KR 2010 or TKR
I won't put them down.

I shall repeat, it is under construction. It is not working. When it is working, I am sure that there will be some notification.

Knight Rider Book Question

Has anyone found out what's going on with the book that Richie and Joe are working on? Last I heard they had to pull the book for some reason dealing with a copyright issue or something?

Knight Rider Legacy should be back and up for sale within the next two weeks. I'll post a message as soon as I know a firm date.

Thanks,
Joe

Hey Joe! Is Amazon and B&N the only places you can go to purchase the book?

Posted: Tue Dec 03, 2002 7:10 pm
by knightimmortal
You can also purchase it from their publisher, iUniverse at http://www.iUniverse.com (just type in the name) otherwise, it is all dependent on how many other sellers decide to pick it up. Your best deals will probably come from Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Just their websites, or can the book be physically ordered and bought at a B&N storefront, too?

For now, just their websites, but the last time, a few Barnes & Noble stores actually had them in stock in their physical stores. I think it all depends on how the store manager, or the ordering manager feels about it.

That's good to hear, KI. Seeing as how I pass right by a B&N store each day, and all. It would be far easier for me to just order it through the store than over the web.
