[Giggles]

Ok I've been asked to post a new thread. I'll leave this open too in case people have questions. then I'll do it here too.


For starters I was in college majoring in counseling. When I was just writing a story for Knight Rider. I never throught of doing a script or even having it produced. I just wanted to get it out of my system so I started writing it as a story. Not much for it anyway. I just do a few minutes before classes started. Then the teacher was asking me what I was doing. I told him and he said he likes the show and would want to read it. I said "no way". I was just doing it for myself. Never think anyone would want to see it.

Then he offered to give me points to my grade if I let him read it. So I did and it was 30 hand written pages long. (still in story form) He gave me 20 points to my grade instead of 10 that he promised. He liked it so much he said he would like to see it produced. Then it dawned on me maybe I can do this.

Thanks for being willing to tell your story Giggles, but can you give more details? What was the course you were taking that you got extra points for? Was it a specific type of writing class?

And what was the story behind having the script registered? What motivated you to do that? Did you ever try to contact Universal to get a writing job or submit your script?

I was majoring in counesling at the time. So it was a psychology class. Not a writer's class. I never had to take a writer's class for my associates. I was taking tons of psychology classes. I can go ahead and re type it up since I remember how it went. I had it in my last computer and it died on me. I wasn't able to transfer the stuff over before it crashed. I'm in the process of moving.

If I redo it I can re submit it since my name is in like 5 different production companies. I'm already am working with a different production company.

I plan on posting more about what happened as I have time.

Okay so I'm in college and still taking classes. I don't know one thing about writing a script. So I buy a book on writing scripts and watch a lot of television to get an idea of what these camera directions are. I buy a script from the show so I know how the format is done. It took me forever to get these camera directions down. It seemed like it never got done. But finally I got those figured out and then I started writing what I wrote up in college into the script form. The only problem was I only ended up with 15 pages.

After I had written the 15 pages I had to go back and rethink the story. I didn't know what to write about the girl. So I drew from my experience. (I've been told this is the best kind that writer's draw from their experiences.) Cindy was me in the story so everything she could do was from me. Like pick pocketing Michael's keys and stuff.

Perhaps using electronic locks in the handcuffs that only KITT could open? Oh and Michael and KITT would try to set her back on right track & get rid of pick pocketing, could make hilarious conversations about right & wrong between KITT and her

TEASER

FADE IN:

EXT. BANK - NIGHT

As a van is parked outside. One person is in the driver's seat.

INT. BANK - CONTINUOUS

All three are dressed up in black clothes and wearing ski masks over their faces. David, in his 20's, Leon in his mid 20's and Cindy, 9, are in the bank. David and Leon are putting the money in pillow cases as Cindy is the look out.
Cindy runs up to them.

CINDY
The pigs are coming!

DAVID
Don't yell.

LEON
We need to get out of here.

DAVID
I've got a plan.

LEON
What is it?

David runs and Leon follows him they make it outside.

CINDY
Wait for me.

She runs up and hits the door. Cindy falls backwards and is lying on the floor unconscious.

FADE OUT

END OF TEASER

[Giggles]

ACT ONE

FADE IN:

Cindy wakes up. She is scared and isn't wearing those black clothes and ski mask now. She quickly jumps up and runs to the door and tries to open it. She can't.

EXT. KNIGHT INDUSTRIES BUILDING - DAY

Michael and Devon are walking around the area talking.

DEVON
This is very important to me Michael. I need for you to keep
quiet about this.

MICHAEL
I understand. You know me.

Devon doesn't say anything.

MICHAEL (CONT'D)
Devon. What is it?

He grabs Devon's arm.

MICHAEL (CONT'D)
I can't help you unless you tell me. What has
gotten into you that you are worried but can't
tell me?

[Giggles]

Ci ndy continues to try and figure out how to get out. She looks around and notices a window. Cindy grabs the chair in the room and stands on it. She tries to get out of the window.

DEVON
It is my neice. Michael. She needs your help.

MICHAEL
Don't worry Devon I'll help her.

DEVON
She's a handful.

MICHAEL
Don't worry I can handle anyone.
(beat as he looks around)
Where is she?

Devon looks at his watch.

DEVON
She should be here any minute.

Cindy then runs past the two of them.

DEVON (CONT'D)
I suggest you go get her.

MICHAEL
(shocked)
That was her?

[Giggles]

Michael dashes off and Devon watches. Michael catches up to Cindy and grabs her arm.

CINDY
Let go!

MICHAEL
No. You're uncle has told me I need to keep an
eye on you.

CINDY
He did not!

MICHAEL
Yes he did.

CINDY
Liar!

MICHAEL
Don't call me names. I'm not lying.

CINDY
Yes you are! I don't have an uncle!

MICHAEL
(shocked)
What?

Cindy then breaks away from MIchael's hold and runs off again.

[Giggles]

MICHAEL
(into watch)
Kitt. I need some help.

INT. PARKING LOT - CONTINUOUS

The car's motor begins running.

KITT
Right away Michael.

The car then begins to drive off.

EXT. FENCE - CONTINUOUS

As Cindy runs toward the fence.

CINDY'S POV

As she sees how high up the fence is.

REVEAL

as the car comes over to Cindy and parks in front of her.

Cindy is scared and stops. Michael walks over.

MICHAEL
Good job Kitt.

KITT
No problem.

Cindy has a shocked look on her face.

CINDY
The car talked.

MICHAEL
(sarcastic)
You mean your uncle didn't tell you?

CINDY
Why do you keep saying that?

MICHAEL
I told you, I'm here to help you.

CINDY
I don't have an uncle.

Devon finally walks over to Michael.

DEVON
Yes you do Cindy.

Cindy has a shocked look on her face.

CINDY
Uncle Karl?

Michael has a shocked look on his face.

MICHAEL
Karl?

W...O...W... This is excellent, can't wait for the rest of the story. You can sure write!

It already looks like this would've made really great Knight Rider episode

Since this was my first script and I've written millions since then. I can see where I kept messing up on this one.

DEVON
I suggest we go talk inside.

INT. KNIGHT INDUSTRIES BUILDING - MEETING ROOM - DAY

Devon, Michael and Cindy are sitting around a table. Devon goes over to Cindy and handcuffs her to the chair.

CINDY
Hey!

She tries to pull it away from her.

CINDY (CONT''D)
Get me out of this!

MICHAEL
Is this necessary?

DEVON
Yes.
(looks at his watch)
It will only be good for the next ten minutes.

MICHAEL
Did you hear that Kitt?

KITT (V.O.)
Yes Michael.

Cindy stops working on the handcuffs.

CINDY
What was that?

MICHAEL
(avoiding the subject)
Nothing.
(to Devon)
I think we deserve some answers.

DEVON
(to Cindy)
Yes I agree. We should have some answers.

MICHAEL
I am talking to the two of you. I'm referring to Kitt and
I.

CINDY
Who's kitt?

MICHAEL
You mean what is Kitt?

CINDY
What?

DEVON
You're right Michael you do deserve some answers.

MICHAEL
Good.

DEVON
Let's go into another room.

He gets up and Michael follows Devon.

CINDY
Hey! What about me?

DEVON
We'll be back.

Then they exit.

CINDY
I've heard that before.

THen goes back to working on the handcuffs.

[Giggles]

INT. HALLWAY - CONTINUOUS

Devon and Michael enter.

MICHAEL
Okay. What are you going to tell me?

DEVON
Not here.

He heads for another room.

DEVON (CONT'D)
Let's talk in here.

Devon exits.

INT. MEETING ROOM #1 - CONTINUOUS

Cindy is working on the handcuffs some more.

INT. MEETING ROOM #2- CONTINUOUS

Devon enters followed by Michael.

MICHAEL
Okay what is it?

DEVON
You and I have a lot in common.

MICHAEL
Like?

INT MEETING ROOM #1 - CONTINUOUS

Cindy finally gets out of the handcuffs.

INT. MEETING ROOM #2 - CONTINUOUS

DEVON
Like you I used to have a different identity. Till someone helped
me out.

MICHAEL
Mister Knight?

DEVON
Yes. The same.

INT. MEETING ROOM #2 - CONTINUOUS

As Cindy then opens the window and climbs out.

INT. CONFERNECE ROOM # 2 - CONTINUOUS

Michael and Devon are still talking.

DEVON
I'm worred about Cindy.

MICHAEL
She'll be okay in that room.

DEVON
No I mean she is a lot like me.

Michael has a shocked look on his face.

MICHAEL
What other surprises do you have?

EXT. BUILDING - CONTINUOUS

Cindy runs past Kitt

KITT
Michael.

INT. CONFERENCE ROOM #2 - CONTINUOUS

Michael talking into his watch

MICHAEL
Not now Kitt.

KITT (O.S.)
But Michael.

MICHAEL
What is it?

DEVON
Cindy has escaped again.

MICHAEL
I handcuffed her myself.

DEVON
I am a certified escaped artist. Cindy is too.

MICHAEL
Oh no.
(beat; into watch)
Stop her!

EXT. PARKING LOT - CONTINUOUS

Kitt drives up to Cindy.

KITT
Will do.


He follows Cindy. Cindy runs inbetween two buildings. Kitt gets on two wheels and then follows her.

CINDY
I don't believe it.

Then she stops and looks around.

CINDY'S POV

She sees a garbage can and gets in.

REVEAL

as Kitt drives up to the garbage can.

KITT
i've got her Michael.

Michael and Devon walk up.

MICHAEL
Where is she?

KITT
In the trash can.

MICHAEL
You put her there?

DEVON
She isn't there.

Michael lifts up the lid.

MICHAEL'S POV

THe trashcan is empty.

MICHAEL
She's gone.

DEVON
Exactly.

MICHAEL
Where would you go?

FADE OUT.

ACT TWO

FADE IN:

INT. BUILDING - DEVON'S OFFICE - DAY

Devon is sitting behind the desk. Cindy is sitting in a chair tied up while Michael is standing next to Cindy keeping an eye on her.

DEVON
Why don't you quit this shenanigan and stay here and help
us.

CINDY
Huh?

DEVON
Didn't your parents teach you english?

MICHAEL
Aparently not.

CINDY
I'm not doing anything till you get these off of me.

Cindy tries to move around.

MICHAEL
Those aren't coming off till I can trust you.

KITT (V.O.)
I agree.

CINDY
Who is that?

MICHAEL
That was Kitt.

CINDY
Who is Kitt?

MICHAEL
You mean what is kitt?

CINDY
What?

Devon is getting frustrated.

DEVON
We are getting nowhere.

He gets up and walks over to the other end of the desk and leans against it.

DEVON (CONT'D)
How eager are you to go home?

CINDY
I rather go live on the streetss!

MICHAEL
Whoa.
(to Devon)
I think she is ready.

DEVON
I think so too.

EXT. BUILDING - CONTINUOUS

Kitt is parked outside.

KITT
I don't trust her.

INT. BUILDING - DEVON'S OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

Everyone reacts.

MICHAEL
(into watch)
No one asked you.
(to Devon)
Go ahead.

DEVON
Thank you Michael.

KITT (V.O)
I'll remember this.

Devon has a surprised look on his face.

MICHAEL
I'll go take care of him.

DEVON
(as he rubs his head)
You go do that.

Michael exits.

CINDY
So I hear you're part me?

Devon reacts.

DEVON
Yes.
(rubs his head again)
If you want to phrase it like that.

Cindy spits on him.

[Giggles]

Devon wipes his face.

DEVON
You remind me of your father so much.

CINDY
You don't know daddy.

DEVON
Yes I do. He was my brother.

CINDY
Where is he?

Devon looks down.

DEVON
(beat; to Cindy)
He's in jail.

CINDY
(yells)
Who put him there?

DEVON
I did.

Cindy gets out of the ropes. Devon runs up to her and grabs her.

DEVON (CONT'D)
He was being a bad guy. Just like you are learning to do it
to.

CINDY
No I'm not!

DEVON
They are using you.

CINDY
How do you know?

DEVON
They used me too. Once they know you can get out
of these situations they use you all the time for their
work. Cindy! They won't stop till you are dead or
you can't escape anymore and then they throw you
out in the streets!
(yelling)
Do you hear me?

CINDY
(worried)
Daddy did that to you?

DEVON
(relaxes)
Yes. He did that to me. I had no choice but to get
out. You can get out too.

CINDY
But Leon needs me.

DEVON
Who is Leon.

Cindy becomes quiet and then kicks Devon in the leg. Devon reacts and lets go. Cindy quickly opens the door to find Michael standing at the door.

MICHAEL
Hello Cindy.

DEVON
Thank you Michael.
