WANTED: Correct Season 1/2 Switchpod buttons

Does anyone know where I can buy a set of the CORRECT (read that as 3 LED) Switchpod buttons from Season 1/2 ? Now, just the buttons, not the fiberglass switchpod, as I already have Joao's on its way with his gullwing.

Thanks, everyone!

Overhead console countdown display function

Can anyone tell me the purpose of the countup module on the overhead console? Is it to see how long a mission is? I don't get it. I would think a clock would make more sense.
Seriously, anyone?

Re: JC Whitney Scanner Question

Yes, and that's what I meant...I was surprised the caps burnt out the transistors that powered the incandescent marker lights. My scanner already has the marker light bulbs in them and I was going to put a cap between the bulbs and the transistor, but not if it will burn out the transistor. I might ...

Re: JC Whitney Scanner Question

The caps burnt out the transitors? Wow, I would never have seen that coming. Even with the caps between the transistors and the bulbs? Oh, well. I'd like to see your LED scanner, because I've never seen one I liked. They all look (to me) like, well, LED scanners, and not like KITT's. But if you foun...

Re: JC Whitney Scanner Question

So, what would happen if you are using regular side marker light bulbs, and put in the caps? The JC Whitney scanner I have has the Christmas bulbs replaced with side marker lamp bulbs, but there is virtually no trailing effect.

Season 1/2 upper console pictures wanted

Does anyone have any good pictures of KITT's upper console from Season 1/2. Not the Pilot, but any others. I find I really like the electronics of the Pilot (3 bar graphs, countup display, "Integrity, Infared, Scanning, etc" signs), but find the Pilot console a bit bulky for my liking. I k...

Re: KITTs exhaust

Nice job! I was surprised to see KITT had dual exhausts, so I'm trying to emulate it. I've been trying to find a kit for just the muffler and tail pipes. Where did you find yours?

Re: KITTs exhaust

I decided to go with a Flowmaster 53083, which is what Flowmaster personally recommended when I called them. Now I need pipes that bend 90 degrees, and are 2.5" ID to hook to the muffler. Heartthrob has a Mendrel Bent tailpipe that looks like the right one for each side. The rest of the pipes o...

Re: KITTs exhaust

Hmm, lots of differences of opinion here. So far, I've seen both. Guess it depended on which car was used. The important thing here, I think, is that the tailpipes were dual. I don't think I want to replace my whole exhaust...it's practically new as it is. I found the Flowmaster 80 muffler has the c...

Re: KITTs exhaust

That's what I was thinking, too. Any idea of the size pipes in and out I need. I'm thinking either 2" or 2 1/4" OD.

Re: KITTs exhaust

Maybe you can help me out. Do you know what size pipes I have? If I ordered a muffler from, say, JC Whitney, what do I order? They have some nice 1 in 2 out mufflers with a nice sound. Any suggestions? I don't want to get too crazy with the price, though.
Thanks!

KITTs exhaust

I was watching the episode of Different Strokes where the kids break onto the Knight Rider set. I noticed that the KITT David is driving has dual exhausts. Now I'm wondering, was it just that replica, or did KITT have dual exhausts? My KITT needs a new muffler, so I have the opportunity to change it...

Re: Where to buy Season 1/2 Overlays

Just to let everyone know, the shifter cable broke at the transmission, so the tranny was stuck in reverse, but the shifter was telling it the car it was in park so it was ok to start. Long (very long) story short, I replaced the cable and now KITT is running fine...albeit hard to start when cold. N...

I'm really disappointed about the slowing down of William Danials' voice. Does anyone know if Milo is addressing this problem? It really sounds bad.

Re: Mio Knight Rider GPS 249.98 @ Amazon.com w/free shipping!

I've got a Pioneer AVIC Z-3 Navigation system in my other car, so I'm pretty spoiled. It's got voice recognition (and it's good!), voice guidance, bluetooth, kicking stereo, traffic alerts, and on and on. That's the one thing I wish this would have, voice recognition...oh, and Bluetooth. I guess tha...

Re: For Sale...PCBs and books from Jupitere Electronics

I am selling the Printed Circuit Boards and Instruction manuals for $100. It includes the voice box, the 4 step countdown, the tach, speedo, actually the whole dash, but only the printed circuit boards. You would have to get all the electronic parts yourself and solder them onto the boards. Then you...

Re: Where to buy Season 1/2 Overlays

Thanks! Good to know. I'll put you guys in my Favorites. I think it's been established that it's probably the transmission cable snapped. I still haven't been under the car, so don't know for sure. I'm trying to find out how much one costs..

For Sale...PCBs and books from Jupitere Electronics

I just bought a partially converted Firebird and the guy had these parts still in the shipping envelope. It's the main PCBs, the voice group PCBs and the Books to go with them. If you check them out on ebay, they are over $200 separately. I have bought the complete electronics package from Chris at ...

Re: Where to buy Season 1/2 Overlays

Well, it's official. KITT is stuck in reverse. I put in some dry gas, and he started, but no matter what gear I put the shift lever in, he'd stay in reverse. So, I'm guessing it's got to be the linkage. Now I have to figure out what to do about it.

Re: Mio Knight Rider GPS 249.98 @ Amazon.com w/free shipping!

You know, I would love to buy one of these, but I can't figure out how to put it into my conversion as one of the two screens. The aspect ratio is wrong, and you have those lights on the sides. I think it would be cool if Milo offered this in a regular LCD screen strickly for conversions.

Re: Where to buy Season 1/2 Overlays

I live in Centereach, Long Island, just south of Stonybrook University. The car is a 1984 Firebird SE, 6 cyl. 2.8 liter, auto transmission. It has the shark nose with scanner, overhead console installed. Also came with lower console, pods and steering wheel not installed. Oh, and the fiberglass dash...

Re: Where to buy Season 1/2 Overlays

Why do I have to write this twice? Anyway, the overlays on ebay are Brians earlier ones, and have some font inaccuracies. I decided to order directly from Brian and get the newer, more accurate ones. I also ordered the electronics and countdown from Jupitere. Thanks everyone for all the information ...
