KITT's scanner seems to have sped up rather at certain crucial times. If anything, the scanner sound would go faster, but not necessarily louder. The increase in power going to the infrared scanning projector would not have made the thing louder.

The scanner was actually regular filament bulbs, not LEDs. KITT had a V8, with turbine for extra power when needed. The actual engine used for the show was a suped up 350.
