Hello, got my "new" Hot Wheels Elite model today, started unpacking and recognized that the box was already opened and sealed again !!! :| I have wondered why, but I got the answer now... 2 quality issues in the front of the modell Can not beleive what Hot Wheels handed out to the retaile...

The headlights not being able to sit flush is very obvious from photos I've seen of the model even before it was released as well as in the reviews at YouTube.. I'm expecting the headlights not being able to sit flush and I reckon it will somewhat be an issue on this model which they would probably ...

The one from Diamond Select Toys isn't diecast, its plastic... As a toy, that one is great... But when it comes to the world of 1/18 and diecast for the adult collector, I think the one from Hot Wheels is no doubt the best one so far... ERTL KITT probably comes a close second...

Probably standard pricing for entertainment based vehicles in the Hot Wheels Elite range... Their normal 1/18 cars from the Elite line are around that price too.

Makes me wonder though if some company out there will do a better one than this Hot Wheels KITT in 10 years time..hahaha..

Indeed... At the end of the day, the overall look of the Elite car looks so much better than Ertl's KITT.. They got the proportions really accurate and the interior looks impressive, just like how it looked in the show, and i'm not talking about just the dash

They probably want to refine the electronics etc etc before release which is why its slated for 2014..

Wow... Can't compare... The ERTL one looks good for its time, but the Hot Wheels KITT looks so much better, a lot better. Also, I didn't realize how bad the ERTL wheels looked, its totally wrong. Hot Wheels got the look of it just about right except for the tires..

Regardless of the wheels though, this model is so much better than the ERTL car in many other areas - pop-up lights, better T-tops, doors with proper hinges, better interior with carpets and soft seats, flat tail light lens, better licence plate, much much better scanner, better overall shape etc. ...

Agreed.. Better looking and better shaped tires would've made the model a whole lot better.. It is already impressive overall, but its only the tires and perhaps the somewhat small rims that is somewhat flawed. Maybe the tires is actually making the rim look small....hmmm...
