I think the 82 orginal should be in it but the focus should be something new. I said other but technically don't think it should be anything you could go down to a dealer and pick up. Although the 4th gens look nice (especially Knightdriver's  ) I don't think it makes a whole lot of sense of m...

Thanks guys. I started out using black primer, but eventually it was hard to find so it became a hodge podge of dayglo orange and hot rod gray in addition to the black. I went with plain old gray because that was the only color I could get in large quantities. I will have to get some black or go wit...

My KITT

Been working my butt off the last few weeks to get KITT ready for paint. Here are the latest pics(bored and was playing aroud with a new digital camera) and don't think I've posted any pics of my car since I started over here. I've done all this myself (except for laying the fiberglass for the nose,...

This whole 4th gen thing makes no since to me. If the model was still in production, yeah, but just because it's the latest available T/A is not really a good reason to use it in the film. To me KITT was a look not a specific make or model. Look at 007, sure the Aston was first, but the point was to...

Yeah I saw that. Didn't Kenny Wayne Chesney buy it? It was mentioned the last time we had a California group meet to cruise over to Barris' shop, but we never did. I think it would be neat to meet and ask him some questions about the show and his take on the replica scene. I'd like to hear what he h...

I was watching "Autmaniac" with Bill Goldberg last night (great show by the way) and the subject was custom pick ups. I guess Barris and his brother made a cool custom pick up in the early 50s called the "Ala Carte." They also did some work on a custom pick up for "Rod and C...

That is neat. I like the stuff that deviates from the standard template the best. You've seen one KITT and you've seen them all.

Yup, I can only work on KITT a few hours a day because of the heat in CA.

If they had waited till later to bring back the show it wouldn't have been KR. KR is one of those shows that needs to have the cheesy 80s back drop. Like Miami Vice or Austin Powers' 1960s it as much of the show as is Michael or KITT. The new movie will also be totally different from what we remembe...

My condolences to everyone involved. Enough is enough, I think it's time the "infidels" do a little house cleaning. I'm sick of living in a world with children holding guns to our heads. I'd say carpet bomb them back into the stone age, but they are already there. I agree with you Lyn. War...

I still think the concept of TKR is still servicable and would like to keep it in the KR universe. KR2K and 2010 can rot, however. I had always imagined a KARR/KRO team wreaking havok on TKR and having KITT and Micahel return to save them.

KR had two paths the way I see it if it kept running. 1) cheesy beyond belief (Super-SPM with licerice dispenser) or 2)sci-fi soap opera like the new Battlestar Galatica and Stargate (killing off main characters, romances, etc.). Back in the 80s it would have gone route 1 as then route 2 would have ...

You might be able to build a KITT for 13 grand but don't count on having money left. They aren't cheap, but your right they are not 20-50 thousand (unless your getting a super quality turnkey from Mark or Don). What a lot of people don't seem to realize is that they are not limited to 82-84 T/As, al...

Dude, you should have seen me. I just sent an black (imagine a genuine KITT donor) 83 T/A T-top with tan interior to the crusher a few weeks ago. My neighbor runs a wrecking yard and he put it on a flat bed and had it delevered to my house so I can pick what I wanted off of it. Alls I needed were some tailights, center console and some tan interior trim pieces. All he wanted was $500 for the whole thing and it was so much, soooooooooo much nicer than the heap in that picture.

This is why I do all the work I can possible. I know in CA the nickle and dime routine is classic. Someone quotes you X amount for paint. Oh, you want black paint, that'll be extra. Oh, you want us to apply the paint, that'll be extra. After a few dozens "Oh, you want's" you get a ridculous amount to do the work. There's getting what you paid for and then there's getting @&^#.

Looks like Classic Inductries seat covers, paid about $600 for mine. Junk yard Camaro door panels, say about $20. I can walk out of my house tomorrow and acquire that car in the photo for less than a grand with all that "work" done on it. My car is about 14 grand so far (8 of it because the car was mint and 4 years old when I got it). Guesss it's crap (less than 20 grand) but it looks a hell of lot better than that thing.

Edit: Just noticed the carpet looks new so lets add another $800 to my estimate for that. So we are looking at a 2 grand car being really generous.
