I find this thread interesting. While I don't remember enough about the series to know the titles of all the shows, I do remember watching this episode. And when the big climax came and KARR exploded, I was like, "Huh? What happened?" I was glad KITT made it through, but I couldn't help wo...

That almost makes it sound like the old Speed Racer cartoon. In a way, the Mach 5 was kind of a precursor to KITT! It was a sports car with ahead-of-its-time technology that was used for fighting crime. Remember the mechanical homing pigeon? I guess that was before cel phones!

Here in the U.S., AT&T is running a commercial that involves human interaction with computers. They show what looks like the talking robot from the original Lost in Space TV show, they show a clip of The Jetsons with the robot maid, Rosie. And... they show KITT, complete with scanner!

Thanks for checking it out! And most of the switches and displays do work! The digital-style dash is not really functional (it's an overlay that allows me to see the analog needles pointing to the LED digital numbers), but there is a functioning digital speedometer in the overhead control panel. And...

Knight Rider is science fiction, but it didn't take place in some distant future, like Star Trek. And, everything KITT could do was supposed to be the result of technology (technology within the Knight Rider universe, of course), not magic. So it's understandable to want at least a semi-logical expl...

New here, with KITT-inspired ZX2!

Hi! I just joined the board after checking it out for a while. Ever since I first saw Knight Rider back in college, I've been facinated with the KITT interior. My current car is a 2002 Ford Escort ZX2, and I have re-done the interior with inspirations from KITT. You can check it out at http://www.ca...

I've also got to agree that it really doesn't look that bad. If you actually go to the eBay site and check out the rest of the pictures, the dash looks better than in the picture posted in this thread.

It's certainly not as good as other replicas I've seen, but it's not horrible.

Hi, everyone! I'm Bob. I first saw Knight Rider in my first year of college when it originally came on way back in 1982, and I've been facinated with the KITT interior ever since. I have experience installing car stereos and other mobile electronics, and I usually keep KITT in mind when I modify my ...
