Re: Ratings for "The Chopping Block" - KR's replacement

Well, it's toast now. Chopping Block has been yanked, to be replaced by Law and Order: Criminal Intent repeats. http://www.popeater.com/television/article/nbcs-chopping-block-is-toast/401152?icid=main|htmlws-main|dl2|link4|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.popeater.com%2Ftelevision%2Farticle%2Fnbcs-chopping-block-is...

Re: Regarding the Knight Rider Companion - PLEASE READ

VK needs to make this go away - now. Right or wrong, this is type of stuff that will dog an art director's career for the rest of his life. If Joe Huth is wrong and you have the rights, lawyer up and sue him. You need that retraction. If something was overlooked legally, don't argue it on boards. Re...

Re: NBC using KR slogan for another show

I agree that the line in and of itself is a cliché, but it is also more of the theme of the original show, not its slogan. I agree with that statement and whilst it may seem a cliché it was also a powerful line and one many regard as the underlying theme of the original series. In no way was I &quo...

Re: I saw the new KARR

You don't name new projects after old ones that have that kind of stigma attached, ever, period. You do if they're military projects. The Comanche helicopter has been under development as long as KARR supposedly has and has yet to deliver a successful prototype - and they haven't changed the name n...

Re: KARR continuity

Well, I posted this in another thread (before I saw this one). I want to add option #4 to Michael's list: 4. "KARR" refers to a military project, not a single robot (or car). Like the Osprey, the Knight Automated Roving Robot has been under development by the Pentagon and Knight Industries...

Re: I saw the new KARR

First of all, I don't think you're going to get a lot of exposition in the show about how this KARR relates to the timeline of TOS - kind of like why Klingons all of a sudden look different (how long did it take to finally address that? 30 years?) Let me submit this: "KARR" is a military p...

so who is the host for K.A.R.R. now? it must be somebody, he did manage to get someone into the SSC undetected Dunno. Pure supposition at this point. All we know for sure is that GST is going out of his way to toss "Cyborg" and "exoskeleton" into the acronym (no need for it, rea...

Re: Live Discussion Thread: Knight of the Living Dead

You know, I'm kind of amazed no one has clued into this yet, but the key seems to lie in the addition of "cyborgnetic" and "exoskeleton." "Cyborg" implies a human element, and "exoskeleton" = armor??? This version of KARR may be a type of transforming powered ...

Re: What kind of wacky transformation will we get next?

All I can say is that my six-year-old loves the transformations, and refuses to watch TOS ever since I explained to him that the car didn't transform (his response: "So it doesn't DO anything!"). Like it or not, that's what kids expect these days, and if you lose the kid vote, you don't ha...

Kitt and the SCC is suppose to be a top secret project. Yet in this episode they both transformed Kitt right in front of the criminals eyes but they took him to the SCC with no blind fold on. Doesn't seem very smart to me. Easy fix. There's an oral aenesthesia called Verced that pretty much blows o...

On the other hand, there are lots of fire fighting foams available that they could have hosed the car down with (look at any aircraft carrier's fire fighting capability) and still have had the same dramatic effect. Sloppy.

But, I've heard rumblings that KITT does underwater work later in the season, so maybe the thought of adding features to KITT as the season progresses is something we should wait for.

For those of you who haven't seen it in a while (and don't have the DVD set), Sleuth TV is showing "Knight of the Phoenix" two-parter TOS pilot this Saturday at 3 pm EST. Fun time to compare the original with the new NBC series.

Well, my newbie is six years old and his eyes bugged out of his head at the first transformation into attack mode and turbo boost. Then he immediately demanded one for Christmas. After he saw the truck transform, he spent the rest of the show asking questions about the car and what else it could do....
