Re: This is how KITT should look like

I agree with having a Challenger with a modified slanted nose. (the hood/taillights kinda looks like KITT's) http://goforahemi.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/ChallengerSRT8blk/new6058.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; You know, the more I look at the hood bulg...

Re: This is how KITT should look like

KITT can be only an american car :-) An American car with the right sort of lines is certainly my first choice for KITT, unfortunately there don't appear to be that many options right now that could fit the bill. Off hand there is the Corvette for a potential base, it may be the best fit for a new ...

Re: This is how KITT should look like

I was looking through Engadget and saw an ad for the BMW i8 concept car. I think the car's design could be a good match for a present day KITT. Ideally, whether this car or another good match is chosen I'd like to see the front end modified much like the Firebird Trans-Am was for the T.V. series. ht...

Re: why does it take so long to make a KNIGHT RIDER MOVIE?

I have high hopes that the A-Team movie will spur some solid development for a Knight Rider movie. Especially, with wanting to capture the "essence" (so to speak) of the original show without turning the movie into a camp-laden imitation (or outright parody). Chances seem good to me, as Ho...

Re: Knight Rider Orchestral Theme

Wow, that's great! The Knight Rider theme always seemed to have a timeless to me, IE it doesn't "feel" tied to a particular time period. I would be perfectly happy with the theme performed just like it was for the original series, but OminousVoice's orchestral rendition has certainly got m...

Re: RE: Larson's Executive Producer Credit

No, NBC isn't doing anything illegal. NBC owns the television rights for Knight Rider, so anytime they wish to make a Knight Rider T.V. series, mini-series, or T.V. movie they can.

Re: New and Never seen before JYD blooper

Wow - that's a pretty cool find. Are these screen shots from after KITT begins his recovery and is repainted?

As it doesn't seem like there are many other vehicles outside in these shots, perhaps the the white KITT was left in the scene[s] on purpose as a physical representation of KITT's fears.

Re: It's official.. Knight Rider Complete Series Boxset

I doubt it will be a 3-digit price tag, but I'm sure the packaging and amount of extra discs will make the set more expensive than the standard price. It'll probably be somewhere in the neighborhood of $60-80. Dude, it's already a 3-digit price tag: "Also, the original Knight Rider: The Comple...

while the car in the opening post is a concept car, it seems this car is going into serial production... as the new Honda NSX for 2010/2011. that date perfectly fits with the release date of the movie, so chances increased this car will at least be considered :-) http://www.worldcarfans.com/6070619...

The Digital Bits seems to have a bit more info on the upcoming release: Also, the original Knight Rider: The Complete Series has been set for DVD release on 10/21 (SRP $139.98). The 24-disc set will feature collectible packaging in the form of a K.I.T.T. gift box, complete with flashing lights and s...

Re: KITT in the New Movie

Those snippets on writing & filming KITT from the Knight Rider [original] series bible are pretty interesting. I've read PDF versions & excerpts from series bibles on a couple other shows - they always prove fascinating reading, especially when you can compare the series bible to the tv show.

Re: POLL: KITT's Voice Box

I still really like the 'bar' style adopted as the show went on. But I think it's not entirely out of the question to use a modified version for the feature film. Instead of a dedicated display for the 'voice box' perhaps have it be a multi-function display for whatever with the 'voice bars' being t...

Re: The new Knight Rider...why they "keep getting it wrong".

Glen Larson was not involved in the production of the telemovie, his getting that Exec. Producer credit may have been a contract/legal issue similar to how Bob Kane's name still appears in Batman comics or how Gene Roddenberry is given Exec. Prod. credit for Star Trek series & movies. At least p...

Re: Kitt Modes & Abilities

I believe that the HERO K.I.T.T. is named following standard prop naming convention rather than a specific vehicle mode. All it means is that the car that will get used for close-ups and/or interior shots; basically anytime the audience is supposed to see details. As opposed to a STUNT K.I.T.T. whic...

It's been awhile since I've seen most of the original show [though I have recently watched through about the first half of the second season] - but several items strike me as incorrect on the list. The Popular Mechanics article lists the following items as Negatives for the original KITT Audio/Video...

So the KITT that's up for auction is a replica used in the movie The Benchwarmers instead of an 'original' like the article states?

Definitely a weird auction though...

Re: KITT should be a Made in USA car.

I don't know if the Saturn Ion has been discontinued yet - but it's headed that way. GM's been increasing their [death] grip on Saturn the last few years so it's not quite the company it once was. I drive a model year 1999 Saturn SL1 - it's been a great car and suits my needs. A lot of the newer stu...

Seeing as the new series is a continuation, I kinda wish NBC had tried to do something different with the vehicle's name/acronym rather than use K.I.T.T. again.

The render of the interior seems interesting [more so for the rear seats than the front]. It doesn't seem as if there's as many gadget-type areas in the dash as KITT had. In some respects the Knight 3K seems almost too plain inside - doesn't quite say 'supercar' to me. But there is time yet for alte...
