I think he was he does seem to speak highly of it when he is interviewed he was always complimentory of the seriesand he loved the concept of a talking car and it was rather unique for it's time which was why he took the rol and still is in many ways

The Knight Rider theme tune is rather catchy and that often gets in my head I quite like the White Bird tune as well used in the episodes with Micheals's girlfriend in it.

Personally I preffered Kitt's look during the first 2 seasons than during seaons 3 and 4 but my guess is that was all part of the upgrade that Bonnie carried out on KITT after that rocket hit him in the 3rd Season premiere
