Re: JC Whitney Scanner Question
i wouldn't try that. the power from the led or bulbs actually returns throught the board, you will definitly burn out the transistors. on the other hand, if you run some pnp high voltage regulators through the box and out, you can power some serious lights. i'm trying to cut down on the level of pow...

Re: a Question about KITT replicas and the law
as far as red lights go, i always made my scanner removeable, but i replaced it with a metal strip painted bright red. that way, if i ever would have a cop pull me over( smartass that i am ) id tell any cop/ judge that if they didn't shut up, i'd paint the entire car red, nevermind the red strip. th...

Re: KR08 vs Viper
Actually, I was thinking of a few crossovers, but the one that sticks in my craw the most is a crossover with an unexpected twist to bring the ols KR up to the new..... I'm working out a plot line. I have and explosive entrance, but I need to work out some bugs for the meshing of the old with the ne...

Trouble with Knight Registries...
I just tried to register into Knight Registries, and it won't work. Their page takes all of your info, but when you hit the link to enter it, the response comes that you didn't enter the image code... WHAT IMAGE??? Nice job webmaster. I wonder if anybody else has this trouble.... I also think that t...

Re: Why the series KR08 has disappointed me...
Honestly, I saw more to be disappointed in the writing than in the car. The idea of sending out one person with two hundred support personnel just doesn't wash with me. I'm glad that they eliminated the extra baggage of the government, and it's more true to form of the original. I don't mind the SSC...

Re: New KI3T voice orb for sale!!!
Hmm, I'd like to get one, too. Please don't think i'm trying to knock it down, but I'm a tinkerer from a long time ago, and this is a very, very fine job of replication. I was under the impression that somehow this guy got a warhead nose. But before you all go off, let me explain! Some years back, I...

set of 14" with caps 4 sale
Figure I'd put it up here before Ebay for one of you could have first crack. Set of four rims, reasonable shape, set of black caps to go with 'em. I'm on the WI-IL state line geographically. Might even be able to deliver if close.

Re: Would Knight Rider 08 be better if
Nah. But I think we need a little more wit, especially from Mike (Justin). I know it took a whole season for William Daniels and David Hasselhoff to make it work, but that was because they didn't meet until the end of season party. Then they were on they're way, and seemed more like a team. This run...

Re: If Attack Mode was called Pursuit Mode...
Hmmm. Attack mode.... Pursuit mode.... SPM... We pretty much agree that SPM was the original "jump the shark" moment for Knight rider back in the day. We also have had great advances in tech, especially nanotech, since. Personally, as a buff for anything technologically fantastic, I person...

Re: Original kitt a hard top
Yes, KITT had everything in the package, but I'll tell you, it was an engineering nightmare trying to figure it all out. I pondered on it for days on end when I was in my twenties. I'm a 45 year old maintenance mechanic, and trust me, where there's a will.... If I had the dough, I'd build one wih AL...

Re: JC Whitney Scanner Question
I'm working on that part, I like it too. I might put a second set of caps in the line that charge when the box is turned off, and when its turned on, they "dump" into the LEDs, making the all on feature functional. A different way would be to change the POTentiometer, and have a second of ...

Re: JC Whitney Scanner Question
NO,no,no,no,....This was an old attempt to replace a burned out bulb many moons ago. The LED bar works fine, the array stays cool, and it has the capacitors in it now. Since the LEDs don't hardly pull anything, the transistors in the vox probably don't even realizr that there is actually a light of ...

Re: What is the cheapest way to transport Kitt to Knightfest?
What? No one has their mobile command center yet? After my car is finished, I'm definitly going to build one of them to transport my car! LOL! I entertained that idea for w hile, as I worked with a guy that looked exactly like RC3! I had my old KITT car back then, and threatened him with driving the...

Re: JC Whitney Scanner Question
Tried it. It blows out the transistor that illuminates the bulb, too much amperage. The markers that I use have the same case, but I wanted something that didn't have that "bulby" appearance, and was flat like KITT's scanner when the lights were off. I actually went a step further, and use...

Re: What is Knight Rider?
What is knight rider..... "One man...CAN make a difference...." So far, in all of history, that has been the norm rather than the exception, when you look at it, from a removed pespective. Look at the most prominent people in history. Solomon was an exceptionally skilled leader, not a rule...

Re: JC Whitney Scanner Question
The video is taken with my razor phone. I might be able to get some stills if they look alright, I have to take more of my dash, anyway. I might try to do the you tube thing, but I'm better at converting SAE to Metric, not video files! The razor only records for a few seconds and automatically stops...

Re: JC Whitney Scanner Question
I do have to make an alteration for you guys, the caps are 20mfd, before anyone gets too far along with this..... the 10s will bleed down too fast and the LEDs fade out too rapidly. I went through hell and high water to get my scanner right, and I don't want anyone t/od at me for not saying so! I ap...

There might be someone out there to do it, the phone is a razormoto, and I just downloaded it to the comuter through the utility that I bought with it. Re: I give you....KITT. Please?
I hate to bust bubbles, but lets look at some hard facts here A) GM hates Knight Rider, and can't even keep sales up, so why could they be trusted to support another TV car? Why do you think that they got rid of their best muscle cars and when they DID make a half-baked attempt, they purposely refus...

I hope I don't jinx it, but will the Knight 3000 morph into the Knight 2000? Maybe to evade a pro enemy that is hip to the other usual morphs?

Re: Was KITTs dash covered?
Epoxy is fine, usually forgiving too. The reason I use oil base is that it is extremely durable, and goes on in a layer that is very thick (several Mils over regular paint) and is also forgiving and most of all cheap! My overlays are complicated to explain without a few pix, but I'll try. First, you...
